Choosing Yealink in Australia

Six decisions that settle most Yealink orders before anyone opens a datasheet.

Pick the series by role, then the model by features

Yealink keeps each series consistent: a T3 phone provisions and behaves like a T5 phone, just with fewer lines and a smaller screen. Decide who sits where (reception, desk, mobile, room) and the model choice becomes a short list. Our role table above does that for you.

UC or Teams version

Headsets and room devices come in UC and MS (Microsoft Teams) versions. MS versions add a Teams button and Teams certification; UC versions work with every other platform. Desk phones are either SIP (T series) or Teams-native (MP series) and do not switch between the two.

DECT or Bluetooth for cordless

DECT (W series phones, WH headsets) covers an office or a site from a base and connects natively to desk phones. Bluetooth (BH headsets, T5W phones) pairs with laptops and mobiles within about 10 metres. Many offices use both: DECT at the desk, Bluetooth for hybrid staff.

Check the network first

Every Yealink phone is PoE powered. Count phones, cameras and access points against your switch's PoE budget, put phones on a voice VLAN and let your provider auto-provision them. We supply Ubiquiti UniFi and MikroTik switches with the phones so the whole order works together.

Buy genuine Australian stock

Genuine Yealink bought in Australia carries the full manufacturer's warranty and consumer-law protections. Grey imports can arrive region-locked, with the wrong power adaptor and without Australian warranty support.

Plan how you will manage the fleet

Yes. Yealink SIP phones are supported and auto-provisioned by every major Australian hosted VoIP provider and by 3CX, FreePBX and other PBX platforms. The MP series connects to Microsoft Teams Phone instead of SIP.

MS versions are certified for Microsoft Teams and carry a dedicated Teams button; UC versions work with every other softphone and platform. The audio hardware is the same, so choose by the platform your staff use.

A single W70B base covers a typical office floor or small site, and RT30 repeaters extend it. For whole buildings and campuses the W80B and W90B multi-cell systems let handsets roam between bases. DECT headsets such as the WH63 reach across an office from their desk base.

WH63, WH64 and WH67 DECT headsets connect to Yealink desk phones through their base (and to the T3 series via the EHS35 adapter). UH34 and UH37 wired headsets plug into the USB port on T4U and T5W phones. BH71 Workstation and BH76 Plus pair with Bluetooth-equipped T5W phones.
