For a desk phone or softphone used all day, the best Yealink headset in Australia is a DECT headset: the WH63 (convertible, with base) or the WH64 (DECT plus Bluetooth, mono or stereo). For hybrid workers who move between PC, mobile and meeting rooms, choose the BH76 Plus Bluetooth headset with active noise cancelling. For a simple plug-in headset at a fixed desk, the wired UH37 USB-C headset costs the least.

Three kinds of Yealink headset
Yealink sells three families, and the right one depends on what the headset connects to and how far the user walks.
- DECT wireless (WH series). A base station sits on the desk and connects to a Yealink desk phone, a PC (USB) and, on the hybrid WH64, a mobile over Bluetooth. DECT is the office standard because it gives long range through walls and does not compete with Wi-Fi. Pick DECT when the user takes calls on a desk phone and walks around the office.
- Bluetooth (BH series). A portable headset that pairs with a laptop, mobile and (via a workstation base) a desk phone. Pick Bluetooth for hybrid and mobile workers, and for anyone on Microsoft Teams or Zoom calls from a laptop.
- Wired USB (UH series). Plugs into a PC or a Yealink phone with a USB port. No battery, no pairing, lowest cost. Pick wired for call-centre seats and hot desks.
UC or Teams (MS) version?
Most Yealink headsets come in a UC version and an MS (Microsoft Teams certified) version. The MS version has a dedicated Teams button and Teams-tuned firmware; the UC version works with every other softphone and with Yealink desk phones. The hardware is otherwise the same. If the headset will mostly be used with Teams on a PC, buy MS; for a Yealink desk phone, 3CX, Zoom or a hosted VoIP softphone, buy UC.
Mono or stereo (dual)?
Mono leaves one ear open to the room, which reception and sales teams prefer. Stereo (dual) blocks more noise and is better for open-plan offices and video meetings. Yealink labels these M (mono) and D (dual) in the model code.

Our three picks
Matching a headset to a Yealink desk phone
A DECT headset base connects to a Yealink T4U or T5W phone with the supplied cable and gives remote answer and hang-up through the phone's EHS support, so the user can take a call from across the office. For older Yealink phones or other brands, the EHS35 and EHS40 adapters add the same hook-switch control. Bluetooth headsets pair directly with the T5W series (built-in Bluetooth) or with a T4U phone through a Yealink Bluetooth USB dongle.
Range and battery
Yealink DECT headsets are rated for office-scale range, typically tens of metres indoors through partitions and more in open space, which is why they suit reception, warehouses and clinics better than Bluetooth. Bluetooth headsets stay within about 10 metres of the laptop or phone. All current models charge on the base or by USB-C and are built for a full working day on a charge.

Common questions

All Yealink DECT headsets (WH63, WH64, WH66, WH67) connect to Yealink T4U and T5W desk phones through their base station, with remote answer and hang-up. The wired UH37 plugs into the phone's USB port, and Bluetooth headsets pair with T5W phones directly or with T4U phones via a Yealink Bluetooth dongle.
MS models are certified for Microsoft Teams and have a dedicated Teams button; UC models work with every other softphone, with Yealink desk phones and with hosted VoIP services. The hardware is otherwise identical. Buy MS for Teams on a PC, UC for everything else.
For a desk-based user who walks around the office, yes. DECT gives longer range through walls, does not compete with Wi-Fi and connects to a desk phone natively. Bluetooth is better for staff who move between a laptop, a mobile and meeting rooms.
The WH64 is a hybrid DECT and Bluetooth headset: it connects to a desk phone and PC over DECT through its base, and to a mobile phone over Bluetooth, so one headset covers all three. The WH63 is DECT-only but has a convertible design (over-ear, headband or neckband).
The BH76 Plus has hybrid active noise cancelling with a four-microphone array for the wearer. The DECT and wired models use noise-cancelling microphones so the caller hears less background noise, but do not actively cancel noise for the wearer.
An EHS (electronic hook switch) adapter lets a wireless headset answer and end calls on a desk phone remotely. Current Yealink DECT headsets connect to Yealink T4U and T5W phones without an adapter; the EHS35 is for T3 series phones and the EHS40 connects third-party wireless headsets to Yealink phones.
