Who is ASUSTOR?
ASUSTOR was founded in 2011, and its parent company is ASUSTeK Computer Inc. The name is a portmanteau of "ASUS" and "Storage". ASUSTOR develops private cloud storage (NAS) and video surveillance (NVR) solutions, with its own firmware, hardware and apps, including ADM, the Linux-based operating system every ASUSTOR NAS runs, and App Central, its app store.

What "genuine ASUSTOR" means, and how to check
Wherever you buy, these checks protect your warranty and make sure you get the model you expect:
- Match the full model code. ASUSTOR sells similar-looking generations side by side. The Lockerstor 4 Gen2+ is the AS6704T v2, not the older AS6704T (Gen2), and the Drivestor Pro Gen2 is the AS3304T v2. Check that the code on the listing and the box matches ASUSTOR's product page.
- Know the names. The AS5402T and AS5404T are listed as Nimbustor 2 Gen2 and Nimbustor 4 Gen2 by ASUSTOR; that is the same product.
- Buy new stock. A new unit comes with ASUSTOR's listed package contents. For example, the AS6704T v2 box lists the unit, a quick installation guide, power cord and adapter, two Cat 5e LAN cables and drive screws; the AS6804T includes four Cat 6a 10GbE cables.
- Diskless means diskless. ASUSTOR's specifications note that hard disks are not included with the NAS. If a listing includes drives, it should name the drive model, as our bundles do (for example ST4000VN006).
- Ask about warranty before you pay. A genuine supplier will tell you the warranty term and how claims are handled in Australia.
- Keep the tax invoice. It is your proof of purchase date for any warranty claim.

Compatible accessories and UPS protection
AS-T10G3: a PCIe 3.0 x4 card with a 10GbE RJ-45 port (Marvell AQC113) and two M.2 NVMe SSD slots. ASUSTOR lists it as an accessory for the Lockerstor 4 Gen2+, Lockerstor 6 Gen2+ and Lockerstor 4 Gen3. The Lockerstor 2 Gen2+ does not support 10GbE.
AS-RAIL: ASUSTOR's rail kit for its 1U to 3U rackmount NAS. None of the 12 desktop models above are rackmount, so check ASUSTOR's applied-model list or call us first.
