Professional Overview

The UniFi E7 is Ubiquiti's flagship indoor WiFi 7 access point, targeting high-density enterprise environments — offices, lecture theatres, conference centres, hospitality venues, large retail floors and warehouses — where a single AP needs to carry 1,000+ concurrent clients at the highest available throughput. It is a tri-band 10-stream design: 4×4 MU-MIMO on 6 GHz, 4×4 on 5 GHz and 2×2 on 2.4 GHz, with up to 8 BSSIDs per radio so VLANs, guest networks and IoT SSIDs can be served from one device.

Peak PHY rates reach 11.5 Gbps on 6 GHz (320 MHz channel), 8.6 Gbps on 5 GHz (240 MHz) and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. To stop the wired side from becoming the bottleneck, the E7 ships with a primary 10 GbE RJ45 uplink — uncommon in this form factor — paired with a redundant 1 GbE RJ45 port. The secondary port can be wired into a second switch or stack member, so a single switch port or cable failure no longer takes down a high-density coverage area. Backwards compatibility extends from 802.11n through ax and ac, so legacy clients are not orphaned during a WiFi 7 rollout.

Power is delivered via PoE++ (802.3bt, 42.5–57V DC, up to 43W consumption), which UniFi PoE++ switches such as the USW-Pro-Max or USW-Enterprise lines provide natively. Mounting is flexible — ceiling, wall and standard 100 mm VESA — and the included Pro Mount makes a clean tile-and-grid installation straightforward. The R/G/B status LED, designed-in for service identification, can be muted via UniFi Network.

Build quality is uprated for commercial deployment: a UV-stabilised polycarbonate radome over an aluminium-alloy chassis with stainless-steel (SUS304) and galvanised-steel (SGCC) mounting hardware, rated for -30 to 50 °C ambient operation and 5–95% non-condensing humidity. Certifications cover CE, FCC, IC and ANATEL (06372-24-08356). Management is entirely through UniFi Network 9.2.87 or later — no per-AP licence, no controller subscription, full RF planning, fast roaming, band steering, RADIUS, captive portal and rogue AP detection. Ubiquiti E7 vs U7-Pro vs U7-Pro-Max — Which WiFi 7 Access Point Do You Need?

The UniFi E7 is Ubiquiti's enterprise WiFi 7 access point: 10 spatial streams, 1,000+ clients, a 10 GbE uplink and PoE++ power, with high-power 6 GHz radio. The U7-Pro (6 streams, 300+ clients) and U7-Pro-Max (8 streams, 500+ clients) are excellent for offices and mid-density sites, but both top out at a 2.5 GbE uplink — the E7 is the one designed for lecture theatres, convention spaces, stadium concourses and other high-density enterprise environments.

Choose the E7 for high-density enterprise WiFi — auditoriums, schools, stadiums, warehouses and campus deployments where client counts and full WiFi 7 throughput matter. Choose the U7-Pro or U7-Pro-Max for offices, retail and mid-density spaces on PoE+ budgets. All are managed by UniFi Network with no licensing fees, and all are available with Australian stock from ARC IP Networks. Compare the full range on our Ubiquiti UniFi access points guide.

Frequently Asked Questions — Ubiquiti UniFi E7

What is the Ubiquiti UniFi E7?

The UniFi E7 is Ubiquiti's enterprise-grade WiFi 7 (802.11be) access point. It is a tri-band ceiling AP with 10 spatial streams (4x4 on 6 GHz, 4x4 on 5 GHz, 2x2 on 2.4 GHz), a 10 GbE uplink, PoE++ power and support for 1,000+ connected clients across 185 m2 of coverage.

How many clients can the E7 handle?

The E7 supports 1,000+ concurrent clients, making it suitable for lecture theatres, auditoriums, convention spaces and other high-density environments. By comparison, the U7-Pro supports 300+ and the U7-Pro-Max 500+ clients.

What is the difference between the E7, U7-Pro and U7-Pro-Max?

The E7 is the enterprise tier: 10 spatial streams, 1,000+ clients, 185 m2 coverage, a 10 GbE uplink, PoE++ power and higher 6 GHz transmit power (24-30 dBm). The U7-Pro (6 streams, 300+ clients) and U7-Pro-Max (8 streams, 500+ clients) both use a 2.5 GbE uplink and PoE+ power, and suit offices and mid-density deployments.

What switch or power does the E7 need?

The E7 is powered by PoE++ (802.3bt, up to 43W) and has a 10 GbE RJ45 uplink plus a secondary 1 GbE port. To get full performance, pair it with a PoE++ switch that has 10 GbE ports, such as UniFi's Pro Max or Pro XG PoE switches.

Does the E7 support the 6 GHz WiFi 7 band in Australia?

Yes. The E7 is a tri-band AP with a dedicated 4x4 6 GHz radio supporting channel widths up to 320 MHz, alongside 4x4 5 GHz and 2x2 2.4 GHz radios, for full WiFi 7 multi-gigabit wireless performance.

What mounting options does the E7 include?

The E7 supports ceiling, wall and VESA mounting, and ships with Ubiquiti's Pro Mount with stainless and galvanized steel hardware.

Does the E7 need a controller or licence?

The E7 is managed by the UniFi Network application running on any UniFi Cloud Gateway or self-hosted console. There are no licensing or per-AP subscription fees.
