ARC DATA ARC-ODF-RM-2U at a glance

The ARC DATA ARC-ODF-RM-2U is a 2U, 19-inch rack-mount optical distribution frame (ODF) that terminates, splices, patches and stores 24 fibre cores. The cores sit on two sliding trays of 12 SC positions, so one tray can be worked on without disturbing the other. Trays take SC, LC or FC adapters, with insertion loss of 0.3 dB or less.

ARC DATA is the networking brand of the ARC group. Contact ARC IP Networks for ARC-ODF-RM-2U availability and project pricing.

The ARC DATA ARC-ODF-RM-2U in depth

Terminate, splice and patch 24 cores in 2U

The ARC-ODF-RM-2U brings fibre termination, splicing, patching and slack storage together in a 2U, 19-inch frame. Its 24 cores sit on two plug-and-play sliding trays of 12 SC positions each: pull one tray forward for full access while the other stays in service.

One frame for SC, LC or FC

The trays take SC, LC or FC adapters, so one part number suits the patching standard in the room. Specify the adapter type at order.

Cable entry and optical performance

Cable enters from above or below with free allocation, and both ribbon and bunch cables are supported with adjustable hangers. Insertion loss is 0.3 dB or less, with return loss of 60 dB or better on APC. The cold-rolled steel chassis is rated -40 °C to +60 °C.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the ARC DATA ARC-ODF-RM-2U from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed November 2026.

An ODF (optical distribution frame) is the organised meeting point between incoming fibre cables and the equipment they serve. It terminates cables on adapter ports, houses the splices, stores slack within bend-radius limits and gives every fibre a labelled, patchable position.

An ODF does the patching job of a fibre patch panel and also houses splices and stores slack. The ARC-ODF-RM-2U combines adapters, splice trays and slack management for 24 cores in 2U.

Each of the two trays holds 12 SC positions and slides forward independently on plug-and-play rails, so you can splice, patch or inspect one tray while the other stays untouched and in service.

The trays are universal for SC, LC and FC adapters. Specify the adapter type when you order.

Insertion loss of 0.3 dB or less through the adapters, with return loss of at least 45 dB (PC), 50 dB (UPC) and 60 dB (APC).

Frames at 48, 72 and 96 cores are made in the same sliding-tray format. Contact ARC IP Networks for availability and project pricing.

Insertion loss is the optical power lost where a component sits in the link, measured in dB: a connector pair, a splice or a splitter. Every component’s loss is added up against the PON optics’ loss budget, so lower is better.

Pigtails for splicing, adapters to your connector standard and patch cords to the active equipment, such as an OLT. Call ARC IP Networks on 1300 100 440 for a matched bill of materials or project pricing.
