The ARC DATA ARC-FDT-24-SCA in depth

Feeder in, 24 drops out

The ARC-FDT-24-SCA is the point in an FTTx network where the feeder cable is spliced, split and distributed to subscriber drops. Splicing, splitting, distribution, slack storage and cable connection sit in one IP-68 enclosure.

Pre-loaded ports and splitter space

It ships with 24 reinforced waterproof SC adapters installed, so drops connect from outside without opening the trays. Up to three 1 x 8 PLC splitters fan the feeder out to all 24 ports; splitters and SC/APC pigtails are ordered separately.

Built for the outside plant

Five trays hold 120 splices. A mid-span entry of 10 to 16.5 mm takes uncut feeder cable, the 180° buckled-lock opening gives full access for splicing, and the PC+ABS housing mounts on a wall, a pole or an aerial strand, rated -40 to +75 °C.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the ARC DATA ARC-FDT-24-SCA from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed November 2026.

A fibre distribution terminal, or fibre access terminal (FAT), is the weather-sealed box in an FTTx network where the feeder cable is spliced, optionally split through a PLC splitter and connected out to individual subscriber drops. It sits on a pole, wall or kerb between the exchange plant and the premises.

It has 24 pre-installed waterproof SC ports, and up to three 1 x 8 PLC splitters fan the feeder out to all 24 of them.

120 fibres across five trays of 24, using fusion or mechanical splicing.

The feeder cable enters uncut through a 10 to 16.5 mm entrance. You open a window in the sheath, splice only the fibres you need, and the rest pass straight through.

Yes. Wall, pole and aerial mounting are all supported, with the 180° buckled-lock giving full access in any position.

IP68 is an ingress-protection rating under IEC 60529. The 6 means dust-tight and the 8 means protected against continuous immersion in water under conditions set by the manufacturer.

No. The terminal ships with 24 SC adapters, five splice trays and management tooling. The 1 x 8 PLC splitters (up to three) and SC/APC pigtails are ordered separately.

Up to three 1 x 8 PLC splitters, SC/APC pigtails, feeder and drop cable, and at the ends of the network an OLT and an ONU at each premises. Call ARC IP Networks on 1300 100 440 for a matched bill of materials or project pricing.
