The ARC DATA ARC-DJC-16-S16 in depth

Splice and split in one dome

The ARC-DJC-16-S16 is a mechanical-seal dome closure with a built-in 1 x 16 PLC splitter. One feeder fibre comes in and sixteen drops leave the same IP68 enclosure, which removes the separate splitter box at the distribution point.

Capacity for the route and the branch

Up to six splice trays of 24 fibres give a 144-core maximum, and splitter configurations run to 1:32 (one unit) or dual 1:16. Express (uncut) branching is supported, with SC or LC adapters and 1.5 m pigtails.

Every cable type, and a seal you can test

Four small ports and one large round port take 3 mm drops, figure-8, 5 to 7 mm round and self-supporting cable. A gas-test valve lets the crew pressure-check the mechanical seal before leaving site, and the dome stays re-enterable for moves and adds.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the ARC DATA ARC-DJC-16-S16 from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed November 2026.

It is a sealed dome splice closure with a PLC splitter inside, so one feeder fibre is spliced and split to many drops at the same joint. The ARC-DJC-16-S16 splits one feeder to sixteen drops inside an IP68 dome.

It removes an enclosure from the network: the feeder is spliced and split at the same sealed point, with sixteen drops leaving the dome directly. That means fewer boxes and fewer joints.

The closure has an integral 1 x 16 PLC splitter and supports splitter configurations of 1:32 (one unit) or two 1:16 units.

The crew pressurises the closed dome and watches for pressure decay, which proves the mechanical seal is tight before the closure goes up the pole or into the pit.

Yes. Express (uncut) branching is supported: open a window in the sheath, splice only what the site needs, and the route carries on.

Six trays of 24 fibres, 144 cores in total, plus splitter configurations to 1:32 or two 1:16 units.

Four small ports and one large round port take 3 mm drop cable, figure-8, 5 to 7 mm round cable and self-supporting cable.

The closure ships with its sealing kit and installation accessories. A PON also needs an OLT upstream, feeder and drop fibre, and an ONU at each of the sixteen premises. Call ARC IP Networks on 1300 100 440 for a matched bill of materials or project pricing.
