Ruijie Reyee Routers in Australia: EG Series Business Gateways Compared

Ruijie Reyee RG-EG routers for Australian small business: multi-WAN NBN failover, VPN, PoE, guest Wi-Fi and free Ruijie Cloud management.

Ruijie Reyee routers are the RG-EG series: cloud-managed business gateways with multi-WAN load balancing and failover, VPN (IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP and PPTP), a captive portal for guest Wi-Fi and lifetime free management on Ruijie Cloud. The range runs from the 5-port RG-EG105G-V3 and RG-EG105G-P-V3 (100 clients, the -P adds a 54 W PoE budget) through the 10-port RG-EG210G-P-V3, RG-EG209GS, RG-EG305GH-P-E, RG-EG310GH-E and RG-EG310GH-P-E (200 to 350 clients) up to the rack-mount RG-EG1510XS (1,500 clients, 10G SFP+). The RG-EG105GW-X (Wi-Fi 6) and RG-EG105GW-T (Wi-Fi 5) add built-in Wi-Fi.

Quick pick: small shop or office with a few cameras → RG-EG105G-P-V3; café or retail store wanting router and Wi-Fi in one box → RG-EG105GW-X; office of 50 to 150 people with branch VPNs → RG-EG310GH-P-E (desktop, PoE) or RG-EG310GH-E (1U rack). ARC IP Networks is an authorised Ruijie reseller and supplies genuine Ruijie from Australian stock with a GST tax invoice.

Multi-WAN: keep trading when the NBN drops out

For an Australian business, an internet outage means the EFTPOS terminal, the cloud accounting system and the VoIP phones all stop at once. Every Reyee EG router below the flagship supports more than one WAN connection, with Ruijie listing seamless failover, aggregated bandwidth, automatic setup and customisable link weight. Plug a second NBN service, a business fibre link or a 4G/5G modem into a second WAN port and the router balances traffic across both, then moves everything onto the surviving link if one fails.

VPN for branches and remote staff

All EG models list IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP and PPTP. For a single office with a few people working from home, the entry models are enough. For a business linking several branches (a group of medical centres, a franchise, a builder with site offices) the RG-EG305GH-P-E, RG-EG310GH-E and RG-EG310GH-P-E are Ruijie's office VPN routers: 64 VPN tunnels and up to 300 VPN users, with tunnel-based traffic control. The RG-EG1510XS raises that to 1,000 IPsec tunnels with a three-step VPN setup.

Ruijie's AnyLink (Reyee SD-WAN) is aimed at multi-site businesses such as retail chains and branch CCTV. Ruijie describes it as linking sites without the public IP address that a traditional VPN needs, with zero-touch provisioning and one-click configuration across the network. That is useful in Australia, where many NBN plans do not include a static public IP. Ruijie lists the RG-EG105GW-X, RG-EG105GW(T), RG-EG1510XS and the EG100, EG200 and EG300 series as AnyLink products.

If your business follows the ACSC Essential Eight, remote access is one of the areas it covers: keep router firmware current (Ruijie lists firmware upgrades through Ruijie Cloud) and use strong, unique passwords for the router and your cloud account.

PoE models: power cameras and access points from the router

Three EG routers have a PoE budget: the RG-EG105G-P-V3 (4 PoE+ ports, 54 W), the RG-EG305GH-P-E (4 PoE ports, 60 W) and the RG-EG210G-P-V3 and RG-EG310GH-P-E (8 PoE ports, 110 W each). In a small shop or clinic that can replace a separate PoE switch: the router powers the ceiling access points, a couple of IP cameras or the desk phones directly. Add up the draw of every device before you rely on it; our PoE switch guide shows how to work out a PoE budget. When you outgrow it, add a Reyee smart PoE switch and let the router concentrate on routing.

Guest Wi-Fi, app control and remote access to cameras

Reyee EG routers include a captive portal that Ruijie describes as "what you see is what you get", so a café, motel or real estate office can put its own logo and terms on the guest sign-in page without coding. Ruijie's retail solution adds voucher codes (up to 50,000) for paid or time-limited access. The routers also block unwanted applications using a library that Ruijie updates automatically, and the 300-series models add bandwidth management by application and by user group, so video calls and the POS system get priority over social media.

For CCTV installers, Ruijie lists secure remote access to the NVR, IP cameras and internal servers "anytime from anywhere", and on the RG-EG105GW(T) page notes this works even with a dynamic or private IP on the WAN port. That saves opening ports on the router to reach a recorder over the NBN.

RG-EG105GW-X and RG-EG105GW-T: router and Wi-Fi in one

Small sites often want one box, not three. The RG-EG105GW-X is a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) business router with AX3000 Wi-Fi, a maximum wireless rate of 2,974 Mbps, five 5 dBi antennas and 1,200 Mbps throughput, recommended for 160 clients. The RG-EG105GW-T is a compact Wi-Fi 5 model (1,267 Mbps, 150 clients) that sits vertically, horizontally or on a wall. Both support Reyee Mesh, so you can extend coverage with more Reyee units at the push of a button. Ruijie's retail solution pairs them with an RG-ES200 series PoE switch and Reyee access points for larger floors.

If you are setting up Wi-Fi for a home rather than a business, see Reyee home mesh Wi-Fi or our home network setup guide.

RG-EG1510XS: the flagship for large sites

The RG-EG1510XS is a 1U rack router recommended for 1,500 concurrent clients, with 4,000 Mbps throughput in normal mode (4,500 Mbps in turbo mode), a quad-core 1.8 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM. Its ports are 4 Gigabit, 4 x 2.5G and 2 x 10G SFP+, so neither the WAN nor the uplink to a 10G core switch is limited to 1 Gbps. It adds third-party portal integration and a 2.5-inch SATA bay: with a 1 TB drive (sold separately) Ruijie quotes 6 to 12 months of syslog storage for compliance audits. It suits hotels, student accommodation, schools and caravan parks.

Managed from Ruijie Cloud, at no licence cost

Every EG router is listed with lifetime free cloud management, including the self-organising network (SON), cloud portal authentication, firmware upgrades and remote monitoring. Read Ruijie Cloud explained for what you can manage and what it costs (nothing).

Common questions

Straight answers from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

Ruijie Reyee routers are the RG-EG series of cloud-managed business gateways. They provide multi-WAN load balancing and failover, VPN (IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP and PPTP), a captive portal for guest Wi-Fi, application blocking and remote access to cameras, all managed free of charge from Ruijie Cloud or the Ruijie Reyee app.

For a small office or shop, the RG-EG105G-P-V3 (5 ports, 4 PoE+ ports, 100 clients) suits most sites with a few cameras or access points. If you want the router and Wi-Fi in one box, choose the RG-EG105GW-X (Wi-Fi 6, 160 clients). For 100 or more staff and branch VPNs, step up to the RG-EG310GH-P-E or RG-EG310GH-E (350 clients, 64 VPN tunnels).

Yes. The Reyee EG routers support multiple WAN links with load balancing and failover. The RG-EG105G-V3, RG-EG105G-P-V3 and RG-EG210G-P-V3 are dual WAN; the RG-EG209GS supports up to 4 WAN; the RG-EG305GH-P-E, RG-EG310GH-E and RG-EG310GH-P-E have 4 WAN ports.

No. Ruijie lists lifetime free cloud management for the EG routers, which Ruijie defines as the lifespan of the product, subject to its end-of-life policies. There is no licence or subscription to manage the router from Ruijie Cloud or the Ruijie Reyee app.

The PoE models can. The RG-EG105G-P-V3 has 4 PoE+ ports with a 54 W budget, the RG-EG305GH-P-E has a 60 W budget, and the RG-EG210G-P-V3 and RG-EG310GH-P-E each have 8 PoE ports with 110 W. Add up your devices' power draw before relying on the router alone.

Most EG routers are wired gateways that work with Reyee access points. The RG-EG105GW-X (Wi-Fi 6, AX3000) and RG-EG105GW-T (Wi-Fi 5) have Wi-Fi built in and support Reyee Mesh for extra coverage.
