The PowerShield Commander RT 2000VA (PSCRT2000) is a line-interactive UPS rated 2000 VA / 1800 W in a rack/tower design with 5 x 10 A IEC C13 and 3 x Australian sockets. It delivers a pure sine wave output on battery.

ARC IP Networks supplies the genuine PowerShield PSCRT2000 in Australia with the full PowerShield Australian warranty (2 years, extended free to 3 years when you register the UPS with PowerShield, with advance replacement) and Australia-wide delivery.

PowerShield Commander RT 2000VA overview

The Commander Rackmount/Tower is PowerShield's microprocessor-based, line-interactive UPS with a pure sine wave output, so it stays compatible with sensitive loads even while running on battery. The PSCRT2000 is rated 2000 VA / 1800 W with an output power factor of 0.9.

Built-in buck and boost AVR holds the output to 240 VAC ±10% across a 162–290 VAC input range, so brownouts and over-voltages are corrected without draining the battery. Transfer time is 6 ms (typical). Outlets: 5 x 10 A IEC C13 and 3 x Australian sockets.

Batteries

The PSCRT2000 runs on 4 internal 12 V 9 Ah batteries with a 4 hour typical recharge to 90%. The hot-swappable internal battery packs are accessed from the front panel, so maintenance does not interrupt the load. Runtime is expandable with the PSRTBB8 external battery bank.

Management and efficiency

Advanced ECO mode reaches up to 98% efficiency during normal mains operation. USB and RS-232 are standard; HID support means Windows, Apple, Linux and NAS devices can shut down in an orderly way without extra software, and PowerShield NetGuard is a free download. The intelligent slot takes the PSSNMPV4 SNMP card, a Modbus card or the PSAS400 relay card. Programmable outlets and an emergency power off function are standard.

Where it fits

PowerShield positions the Commander RT for networking, telecom, security and motors. Its pure sine output makes it a cost-effective step up from simulated-sine UPSs for equipment with active PFC power supplies, motors and automatic gate controllers.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the PowerShield PSCRT2000 from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

The PSCRT2000 is the PowerShield Commander RT 2000VA line-interactive UPS, rated 2000 VA / 1800 W with 5 x 10 A IEC C13 and 3 x Australian sockets.

No. The PSCRT2000 is a line-interactive UPS. It uses automatic voltage regulation (AVR) to correct high and low mains voltage without switching to battery, and transfers to battery in 6 ms (typical) when mains fails. For zero transfer time choose a Centurion online UPS.

Yes. PowerShield specifies a pure sine wave output in battery mode, which suits sensitive electronics, active PFC power supplies and motors.

About 21 minutes at 700 VA (490 W) and 14 minutes at 1000 VA (700 W) with the UPS alone, per PowerShield's runtime chart. With 1 x PSRTBB8 it is about 55 minutes at 1000 VA. Real runtime varies with temperature and battery age.

Yes. PowerShield lists the PSRTBB8 external battery bank for the PSCRT2000; banks connect to the UPS with a DC cable and further banks daisy-chain.

Yes. The PSCRT2000 has an intelligent slot for the PSSNMPV4 SNMP card, a Modbus card or the PSAS400 relay card. The PSSNMPV4 adds web monitoring, email and SNMP alerts, and automatic shutdown of servers and VMware or Hyper-V hosts.

Yes, for NAS devices that support USB HID UPS signalling. PowerShield states the PSCRT2000 supports HID for Windows, Apple, Linux and NAS devices, so a connected NAS or computer can shut down in an orderly way during a long outage.

Up to 1800 W and 2000 VA. PowerShield suggests adding up the watts of the equipment you want to protect and dividing by 0.7 to get the VA rating the UPS must exceed, then allowing headroom for runtime.
