What they do

One box for routing, guest Wi-Fi and VPN

A Reyee gateway does the jobs a consumer router cannot: captive-portal guest access with vouchers or third-party authentication, per-device recognition and bandwidth limits so one guest cannot saturate the service, site-to-site and client VPN, and multi-WAN with failover.

Several models also supply PoE directly, so a small site can run its access points from the gateway with no separate switch. Everything is configured from Ruijie Cloud, including before the hardware ships.

Buying guide

Sizing a Ruijie gateway

Size on concurrent clients, not users

Every phone, laptop, tablet, TV and camera is a client. A 60-room hotel can easily present 400 concurrent devices — that is an EG310GH, not an EG105G.

Check the WAN speed ceiling

Most EG models are gigabit. If the site has NBN Enterprise Ethernet, business fibre or any service above 1 Gbps, the RG-EG1510XS is the only model in the range with 2.5 G copper and 10G SFP+ ports to match it.

PoE on the gateway removes a switch

On a small site the -P models power the access points directly — 54 W on the EG105G-P-V3, 110 W on the 210G/305GH/310GH — so there is no need for a separate PoE switch at all.

Guest Wi-Fi with logging

If you need to keep authentication and session logs on site, the EG1510XS has a 2.5-inch SATA bay for local syslog storage — a common requirement for public guest networks.

Pair it with the rest of the range

The gateway, switches and access points all appear in one Ruijie Cloud project, which is the reason to build the whole site on Reyee rather than mixing vendors.

Ruijie routers and gateways — questions

How many clients can a Ruijie gateway handle?
From 100 concurrent clients on the RG-EG105G range up to 1,500 on the RG-EG1510XS. Count devices rather than people — phones, laptops, TVs and cameras all count.
Do Ruijie gateways support captive portal guest Wi-Fi?
Yes. The EG range includes a built-in captive portal with voucher and account authentication, and the larger models integrate with third-party authentication systems. It is configured centrally in Ruijie Cloud.
Can a Ruijie gateway power access points?
Yes, on the -P models. The RG-EG105G-P-V3 provides 54 W and the EG210G-P-V3, EG305GH-P-E and EG310GH-P-E provide 110 W, enough to run several access points without a separate PoE switch.
Which Ruijie router supports internet faster than 1 Gbps?
The RG-EG1510XS. It has four 2.5 GbE ports and two 10G SFP+ ports, so it can terminate NBN Enterprise Ethernet or business fibre above a gigabit. The rest of the EG range is gigabit.
Do Ruijie gateways support VPN?
Yes — IPsec, L2TP and PPTP, with a simplified site-to-site workflow for linking branch offices.
Is there a licence fee?
No. Ruijie Cloud management is free for the life of the hardware, with no subscription or per-device licence.
