PowerShield Centurion 6000VA Tower overview
The Centurion Tower is PowerShield's true online double-conversion tower UPS for critical equipment. The PSCE6000 is rated 6000 VA / 6000 W (output power factor 1.0) and outputs a pure sine wave with zero transfer time from AC mode to battery mode. PowerShield designed it for critical power applications, remote locations more than 30 km from the city grid, light to heavy industrial environments, sites with generators and applications that need remote connectivity.
Outlets: 2 x 10 A IEC C13 outlets plus hard-wired terminal input and output. It runs on 20 internal 12 V 9 Ah batteries with a typical recharge of 7 hours to 90% capacity. Input and output are hard-wired terminals, so plan for a fixed electrical installation, and N+X parallel redundancy is available on the 6 kVA model.
Built for unstable power
A wide input voltage window (110–300 VAC at 50% load; 176–300 VAC at 100% load), input power factor correction of 0.99 or better, generator compatibility and a 50/60 Hz frequency converter mode suit regional and industrial sites. ECO mode reaches 98% efficiency when mains quality allows.
Management
USB and RS-232 are standard with HID support for Windows, Apple, Linux and NAS devices and the free PowerShield NetGuard software. The intelligent slot takes the PSSNMPV4 SNMP card, the PSAS400 relay card or a Modbus card, and programmable outlets plus EPO are built in.
Extending runtime
Backup time on the Centurion Tower is extended by plugging in additional battery banks. PowerShield's datasheet lists PSCEBB40 and the PSCEBB60CH (with its own 4 A charger) for 6 and 10 kVA models; see the runtime table below. These battery banks are available on request from ARC IP Networks. The Centurion Tower range runs from 1000 VA to 10000 VA.

PowerShield publishes these backup times for the PSCE6000 on its own and with Centurion Tower battery banks added. To size a UPS, PowerShield suggests adding the watts of the equipment to protect and dividing by 0.7 to get the VA rating the UPS must exceed.
