Why choose the DS-2TD4228T-10/S2

Where a fixed thermal camera watches one view, the DS-2TD4228T-10/S2 patrols a whole site. Its 256 × 192 vanadium-oxide thermal module (NETD ≤35 mK, 10 mm athermalised lens) measures temperature from −20 °C to 550 °C with accuracy of max (±2 °C, ±2%), and can hold 21 measurement rules on each of 273 preset scenes. The 4 MP optical channel zooms 32× (4.8–153 mm) to confirm what the thermal channel found, with picture-in-picture overlay of the thermal image. Dynamic fire detection locates up to 10 fire points, smoke detection adds a second line of defence, and smart tracking (panorama, event and multi-scene patrol) links the thermal and optical views. Rated IP66 from −40 °C to 70 °C with 100 m IR. Supplied and supported by ARC IP Networks with genuine Australian stock.

Before you order: this speed dome draws up to 30 W and is powered by Hi-PoE, 24 VAC, 36 VDC or 48 VDC — a standard 802.3af/at PoE port is not listed as a supported power source. It measures the surface temperature of objects and scenes for fire prevention and equipment monitoring. It is not a body-temperature, fever-screening or medical device.

Best for

  • Process and equipment temperature: monitors materials and plant from −20 °C to 550 °C across up to 273 preset scenes.
  • Long-range fire detection: Hikvision reference range of 833 m for a 2 × 2 m fire and 417 m for a 1 × 1 m fire.
  • Large perimeters: thermal VCA reaches 240 m for vehicles and 80 m for people, with 360° continuous pan.
  • Visual confirmation: the 32× optical zoom and picture-in-picture let operators verify an alarm without leaving the control room.
  • Harsh sites: IP66, 6000 V TVS protection and −40 °C to 70 °C operation.

Specifications from the official Hikvision datasheet for the DS-2TD4228T-10/S2. Range and DORI figures are Hikvision reference values and vary with environment.

Professional Overview

The Hikvision DS-2TD4228T-10/S2 is a thermographic thermal and optical bi-spectrum network speed dome. Hikvision designs it for supervising manufacturing processes that handle pyrophoric materials, and for electrical substations and hydropower stations — places where equipment temperature and early fire warning matter as much as intrusion detection.

Its thermal channel uses a 256 × 192, 12 μm vanadium-oxide sensor with NETD below 35 mK behind a 10 mm athermalised lens (18.1° × 13.6°), output at 1280 × 720. The optical channel is a 4 MP 1/2.8″ camera with a 32× 4.8–153 mm zoom, 120 dB WDR and 100 m IR. The PTZ pans 360° continuously at up to 200°/s and tilts from −5° to 90°, with 300 presets, 8 patrols and 4 patterns.

Temperature measurement covers −20 °C to 550 °C with accuracy of max (±2 °C, ±2%). Up to 273 presets can be used as measurement scenes, each with 21 rules (10 points, 10 areas, 1 line). Dynamic fire detection locates up to 10 fire points, smoke detection adds fire prevention, perimeter rules cover line crossing, intrusion and region entrance/exit, and smart tracking links the thermal and optical views. It measures the surface temperature of objects and scenes for fire prevention and equipment monitoring. It is not a body-temperature, fever-screening or medical device.

It is powered by Hi-PoE, 24 VAC, 36 VDC or 48 VDC (max 30 W), rated IP66 with 6000 V TVS protection, and operates from −40 °C to 70 °C. Seven alarm inputs, two relay outputs, RS-485, ONVIF Profile S/G/T, ISAPI and SDK support make it straightforward to integrate. Thermal products can be subject to export controls. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Complete your system

Plan power first: the DS-2TD4228T-10/S2 needs Hi-PoE or a 24 VAC / 36 VDC / 48 VDC supply, up to 30 W. Hikvision industrial Hi-PoE switches such as the DS-3T0510HP (two 90 W Hi-PoE ports) or DS-3T0506HP carry power and data on one cable. Record to the on-board microSD, a NAS, or an NVR/VMS that supports thermal channels and temperature data.

Works with your system

One dome, two eyes. The thermal channel detects heat and fire; the 32× optical channel confirms the detail. Picture-in-picture shows part of the thermal image over the full optical view, and smart tracking links the two.

iVMS-4200

Hikvision desktop client listed in the datasheet for live view, PTZ control and playback.

Hik-Connect

Remote viewing and alarm notifications on iOS and Android.

ONVIF Profile S, G & T

Integrates with compatible third-party NVRs and VMS platforms.

ISAPI & SDK

Open interfaces for integrators and management platforms.

7 alarm in / 2 relay out

Drive sirens, suppression interlocks or PLC inputs from temperature and fire events.

RS-485 & analogue out

Legacy control and a 1.0 V[p-p] analogue video output for local monitors.
