Where to Buy Cisco Meraki in Australia: Hardware, Licences and Stock

How to buy Cisco Meraki in Australia: which licence goes with each MX, MS, MR, MG and MV model, the terms we list, and what to check before you order.

You can buy Cisco Meraki in Australia from ARC IP Networks. ARC IP Networks is a Cisco Registered Partner and supplies new, genuine Cisco with a GST tax invoice. Every Meraki device needs a Meraki licence, sold separately, so order the hardware and its licence together: for example the MX68 with an MX68 Enterprise or Advanced Security licence, an MS130-24P with an MS130 24-port licence, or an MR36-HW with an MR Enterprise or MR Advanced licence.

Quick pick: security and SD-WAN for a branch of up to 500 devices → MX95 with an MX95 licence; outdoor Wi-Fi 6 → MR78-HW with an MR licence. Both showed stock at the time of writing; each product page shows live availability.

What to buy together: Meraki hardware and the licence it needs

Each row pairs the Meraki hardware we list with the licences we list for it, and the terms we list for each licence. A licence link opens one term; the other terms are on our licences and subscriptions page.

Every Meraki device needs a licence, sold separately

Meraki states that every Meraki hardware device requires a cloud licence to be managed, and the licence is a separate product. If an organisation has more devices than licences, or its licences expire, it enters a 30-day grace period and is then shut down until proper licensing is applied. How tightly a licence is tied to the hardware depends on the product line:

  • MX appliances: licensed one per device and per model. Cisco states MX licences are not transferable between MX models, so an MX68 licence does not cover an MX75.
  • MS switches and MG52: licensed per model class (for example MS130 24-port or MS150 48-port); Cisco states classic MS licences are not transferable between switch models.
  • MR access points: model-agnostic. One MR licence covers any Meraki MR access point.
  • MV cameras: one licence class across camera models. MV Sense and Cloud Archive are optional add-ons, licensed separately.

Our Cisco Meraki explainer covers what each product line does; this page is about ordering the right combination.

Buying a Meraki MX: MX68, MX68W, MX75 or MX95

Pick the appliance by the size of the site, then the licence tier by the features you need. Meraki recommends the MX68 for small branches with up to 50 devices (the MX68W-HW adds 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi), the MX75-HW for up to 200 devices and the MX95 for medium to large branches with up to 500 devices.

Every MX is paired with one of three licence tiers: Enterprise (firewall, Auto VPN and SD-WAN), Advanced Security (adds IDS/IPS, content filtering and Cisco Advanced Malware Protection) or Secure SD-WAN Plus. Meraki notes the MX edition is uniform across an organisation, so if your existing MX appliances run Advanced Security, a new one should too. For an MX warm spare pair, Meraki requires only one licence.

The MX68 and MX68W ship with their AC power adapter; the MX95 has an internal power supply.

Buying Meraki MS130 and MS150 switches

Meraki switch licences follow the port count, not the PoE budget: LIC-MS130-24 covers the MS130-24, MS130-24P and MS130-24X; LIC-MS130-CMPT covers the compact MS130-8, MS130-8P, MS130-8P-I, MS130-8X and MS130-12X; LIC-MS150-48 covers all seven MS150 48-port models. Each comes in two tiers, Enterprise and Advanced, and Cisco states MS130 and MS150 Advanced adds only Adaptive Policy. Meraki also requires the same tier (Enterprise or Advanced) across the whole organisation for MS130, MS150 and Catalyst 9300 switches, so check what your existing switches use before choosing.

Catalyst 9300-M models such as the C9300-24P-M join the same dashboard with their own LIC-C9300-24E or LIC-C9300-24A licence. Compare the switch families in our Cisco switches guide, or start with what PoE switch you need.

Buying Meraki MR Wi-Fi access points

MR is the simplest to license: one MR licence covers any MR model. MR Enterprise (LIC-ENT) covers the standard features; MR Advanced (LIC-MR-ADV) adds AI-RRM, Adaptive Policy and Cisco Spaces Advantage; and MR Upgrade (LIC-MR-UPGR) is not a standalone licence: it adds the Advanced features to an access point already licensed with MR Enterprise.

Check the end-of-sale status first. Cisco's Wi-Fi 6 indoor access point notice lists the MR36-HW and MR46-HW with an end-of-sale (last order) date of 31 December 2026, and names the Wireless 9172I and 9176I as their migration products. The outdoor MR78-HW is not in that notice. See our Cisco Wi-Fi access points guide for Catalyst Wi-Fi options.

Buying a Meraki MG52 or MV camera

The MG52-HW 5G cellular gateway takes its own LIC-MG52-ENT licence. In the box Meraki lists the MG52 and its mounting plate; it is powered by 802.3at PoE+ or a 12V DC input.

Meraki MV cameras such as the MV53X and MV63X-HW each need an MV Enterprise licence (LIC-MV). Optional Cloud Archive licences keep off-site copies of video, and MV Sense adds camera analytics APIs; both are licensed separately from MV Enterprise.

Licence terms, and when a licence starts

The terms we list differ by licence family (see the table above); if you need a term that is not listed, ask us. In Meraki's co-termination model a licence starts consuming time from the date it is processed, not the date you add it to the dashboard, so there is no benefit in buying early and activating later, and co-term licences in one organisation share one expiry date. A licence is not a warranty: a valid licence does not extend hardware warranty cover. Our Cisco and Meraki licensing guide explains co-termination and renewals.

What to check before you order Meraki

Meraki stock: what we hold now

At the time of writing, the MX95 and MR78-HW were the Meraki models we held stock of, so they are the quick picks. The MX68, MX68W, MX75, MS130, MS150, MR36, MR46, MG52 and MV models showed no stock. Each product page shows live availability and pricing (inc. GST).

Common questions

Straight answers from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

ARC IP Networks is a Cisco Registered Partner and supplies new, genuine Cisco with a GST tax invoice. We list Meraki MX, MS, MR, MG and MV hardware and the Meraki licences for them. Order from the product page, or call 1300 100 440 or email info@arcip.com.au for a quote with the licences included.

Yes. Meraki states that every Meraki hardware device requires a cloud licence to be managed. The licence is sold separately from the hardware, so order both together.

Yes. We list Meraki licences as separate products, for example MX Enterprise, Advanced Security and Secure SD-WAN Plus licences for the MX68, MX75 and MX95, MS130 and MS150 switch licences, MR Enterprise and MR Advanced, MG52 Enterprise and MV Enterprise, so you can license new hardware or renew existing devices.

Not for MX or MS. Cisco states MX licences are not transferable between MX models, and classic MS licences are not transferable between switch models. MR licences are different: one MR licence covers any MR access point.

It depends on the model. For example we list the MX68 Enterprise licence in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 years, MR Enterprise in 5, 7 or 10 years and the MG52 Enterprise licence in 1, 3 or 5 years.

Cisco's Wi-Fi 6 indoor access point notice lists the MR36 and MR46 with a last order date of 31 December 2026. The outdoor MR78 is not in that notice.

Not the MS130 and MS150 models we list: Meraki says the power cord is not included and to order MA-PWR-CORD-AU. Ask us to include it in your quote.

Each Meraki product page shows live Australian pricing (inc. GST). Installers and integrators can ask for trade and project pricing on 1300 100 440 or at info@arcip.com.au.
