Professional Overview

This is the panoramic lens in the Theta Professional range. Ubiquiti positions it for large, busy spaces — entrances, lobbies, retail floors — where the requirement is to see everything happening in a room from one ceiling point rather than to read detail at one spot.

The output format is the thing to understand before specifying it. Unlike the other Theta lenses, this one produces a 1:1 square image at 2160 x 2160 — 4MP — from the 8MP 1/1.8" sensor, because a 180° hemispheric view is circular rather than rectangular. That is normal for a fisheye and it is why the recorded pixel count is lower than the sensor's: the 16:9 lenses use the sensor differently. Frame rate is up to 24 FPS.

A 180° field of view in every axis means one lens covers a whole room, but the resolution is spread across that entire hemisphere. In practice that makes it excellent for understanding what happened and where, and poor for identifying a face at the far wall. Pairing a ProLens360 for situational coverage with a ProLens50 for detail at the till or the door is the sensible design.

Physically it matches the rest of the Professional range: ⌀36.6 x 58.9 mm, 58 g, drawing 2.5W at 5V DC over the Theta connection from the hub. A Standard Flush Mount is included for flat ceiling or wall mounting, with a flush mount optional and compatibility across the AI Theta Pro mount range. It is indoor only, 0 to 40°C at 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity, certified FCC, IC and CE. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the field of view?

180° horizontally, vertically and diagonally — a full hemispheric view.

What resolution does it record?

4MP at 2160 x 2160 in a 1:1 aspect, up to 24 FPS, from an 8MP 1/1.8" sensor. The square format reflects the circular hemispheric image.

Why is the recorded resolution lower than the sensor?

A 180° hemispheric view is circular, so the square 2160 x 2160 output uses the sensor differently from the 16:9 lenses in the range.

Can this lens be used on its own?

No. It connects to a UniFi Protect AI Theta Hub, sold separately, which provides processing, network and power.

Is it good for identifying faces?

It is designed for panoramic situational coverage. For identification at distance, pair it with a narrower lens such as the ProLens50.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. It is specified as indoor only, 0 to 40°C at 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity.

What mount is included?

A Standard Flush Mount for flat ceiling or wall mounting, compatible with the AI Theta Pro mount range.
