Technical Specifications

Professional Overview

The UISP Power Pro exists because remote wireless sites fail in a specific way: the power goes, the site goes dark, and nobody knows until a customer calls. It combines the power distribution, the battery backup interface and the alerting into one rack unit so that a tower or rooftop site can ride through an outage and tell you it is doing so.

Power distribution is by three Power TransPort outputs, which carry both power and data to supported UISP devices over a single run. With both power supply bays populated the unit delivers up to 480W at 27V DC; one 250W AC/DC supply is included, so reaching the full 480W means adding the second. That is worth planning for at order time rather than discovering when the third radio is installed.

Backup is via a DC battery port for an external 24V lead-acid battery. The battery is not included and is sized to the site — the runtime you need through a typical outage, against the load of the radios being carried. Because the interface is a standard 24V lead-acid port rather than a proprietary pack, batteries can be sourced and replaced locally, which matters for a site that may be hours away.

The alerting is the feature that changes operations. SMS-over-LTE using Cat M1 sends notifications independently of the site's own backhaul — so when the link itself is the thing that has failed, the message still gets out. It requires a nano-SIM from a provider supporting Cat M1. Note that Ubiquiti does not publish a full technical specification table for this product on its store; the details above are what it does document. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the UISP Power Pro for?

Uninterruptible power management at high-capacity WISP deployment sites — distributing power to UISP devices, carrying the site through outages on battery, and alerting when something changes.

How much power does it deliver?

Up to 480W at 27V DC to supported UISP devices, with both power supply bays populated.

How many power supplies are included?

One 250W AC/DC supply. There are two bays, and the second supply is needed to reach the full 480W output.

Is a battery included?

No. It has a DC battery port for an external 24V lead-acid battery, which is sourced separately and sized to the site load and required runtime.

How many outputs does it have?

Three Power TransPort outputs.

How does the SMS alerting work?

Over LTE Cat M1, independently of the site's own backhaul, so alerts still arrive when the main link has failed. It requires a nano-SIM card from a Cat M1 SMS provider.

What is the difference between UISP-P-Pro and UISP-P?

They are separate products in the UISP Power range. Confirm output capacity, supply bays and alerting against your site requirements before substituting one for the other.
