Professional Overview

At 150 mm this is not a patch cable, it is a stacking cable. Its whole purpose is to join two UniFi switches mounted in adjacent rack units, and the ten-pack is the quantity you order when building out a stack rather than fixing one link.

Each cable carries 25 Gbps, 10 Gbps or 1 Gbps and is backward compatible with SFP28, SFP+ and plain SFP interfaces, so it works across mixed-generation UniFi hardware. The distinguishing feature is auto-optimisation: when the cable connects two UniFi devices, link speed and stability are negotiated automatically rather than needing to be pinned in configuration. That removes the most common cause of a stack link coming up at the wrong rate.

Being passive copper, it draws no power and introduces no transceiver latency, which is why direct attach is the right answer at this distance rather than optics. The jacket is white PVC at 4.5 mm outer diameter with a 23 mm minimum bend radius — tight, but at 150 mm there is essentially no routing to do beyond the port-to-port hop.

Ubiquiti publishes this uplink cable in 0.15 m and 0.3 m copper, and 3 m and 30 m fibre; ten-packs are offered in the 0.15 m length. Operating temperature is 0 to 70°C. Note that Ubiquiti does not publish a weight for this cable — the figure on this listing is our own shipping estimate. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many cables are in this SKU?

Ten. It is a ten-pack of the 0.15 m SFP28 uplink cable.

What data rates does it support?

25 Gbps, 10 Gbps and 1 Gbps.

Is it compatible with SFP+ and SFP ports?

Yes. The cable works with SFP28, SFP+ and SFP interfaces.

What is auto link optimisation?

When the cable is used to interconnect UniFi devices, link speed and stability are negotiated and optimised automatically rather than being configured manually.

Is 0.15 m long enough for my rack?

Only for switches in directly adjacent rack units. The minimum bend radius is 23 mm and there is almost no slack at this length. For anything further apart, use the 0.3 m copper or the 3 m fibre version.

What other lengths exist?

0.15 m and 0.3 m in copper, 3 m and 30 m in fibre. The ten-pack is offered in 0.15 m.

What is the operating temperature range?

0 to 70°C.
