Professional Overview

A 30 dBi dish is a long-haul antenna. Where a small integrated radio covers a few kilometres, this is the reflector you fit when the far end is over the horizon of a lesser link — Ubiquiti quotes 30+ km — and when the link has to hold through weather rather than merely work on a calm day.

The wide frequency range is the notable specification: 5.15 to 6.875 GHz in one antenna. That spans the whole of 5 GHz plus the lower 6 GHz band, so the same dish serves existing 5 GHz links and newer 6 GHz radios without restocking. Gain is 30 dBi with dual-linear polarisation and 20 dB cross-pol isolation, which is what allows two polarisations to run on the same channel without interfering.

Beamwidth is 5 to 6° at 3 dB, narrowing to 6.5 to 8° at 6 dB, in both azimuth and elevation. A beam that tight is the source of the gain and also the reason the mount matters: a couple of degrees of drift and the link degrades. Ubiquiti supplies a precision alignment bracket in the box with ±15° of mechanical elevation adjustment, taking pole diameters from 40 to 90 mm.

Structurally it is built for a mast: powder-coated galvanised steel and UV-stabilised polycarbonate, IPX6 rated, surviving wind to 200 km/h with 860 N of wind loading at that speed. That last figure is the one to hand your structural engineer — a 650 mm dish presents real sail area, and the tower has to carry it. The dish is 4.54 kg and the mount another 3.1 kg. Frequently Asked Questions

What frequencies does the UISP Dish cover?

5.15 to 6.875 GHz, spanning the 5 GHz band and the lower 6 GHz band in a single antenna.

What is the gain and link range?

30 dBi of gain, with a point-to-point link range Ubiquiti states as 30+ km.

Is the mount included?

Yes. A precision alignment bracket is included, with ±15° of mechanical elevation adjustment, taking pole diameters from 40 to 90 mm.

How much does it weigh?

The dish is 4.54 kg and the mount a further 3.1 kg.

What wind loading does it present?

860 N at 200 km/h, and it survives wind up to 200 km/h. Confirm the mast can carry that load.

What is the beamwidth?

5 to 6° at 3 dB in both azimuth and elevation, and 6.5 to 8° at 6 dB. Precise alignment is essential at this beamwidth.

Do I need two?

Yes, for a point-to-point link — one dish at each end, each fitted to a compatible radio.

Is it weatherproof?

Rated IPX6, in powder-coated galvanised steel with UV-stabilised polycarbonate.
