Ubiquiti UniFi Indoor Cable Cat6A CMR — 305 m Riser-Rated UTP Bulk Cable with 23 AWG Solid Bare Copper and Anti-Crosstalk Divider

What the UACC-Cable-C6A-CMR Is

The Ubiquiti UACC-Cable-C6A-CMR is a 305 m pull box of Category 6A horizontal cable for structured cabling inside buildings. It is unshielded twisted pair (UTP) built from 23 AWG solid bare copper in four twisted pairs, separated by a central anti-crosstalk divider, under a white flame-retardant PVC jacket 7.05 mm in diameter. The CMR (riser) flame rating, established by the UL 1666 vertical-tray test, is the rating required for cable running vertically between floors. It is specified for 10GBASE-T over a full 100 m channel against ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and ISO/IEC 11801-1, and its 23 AWG conductors support PoE++ (802.3bt) powered devices. The plenum-rated equivalent is the UACC-Cable-C6A-CMP.

Key Features

  • Category 6A UTP communications multipurpose cable

Professional Overview

The Ubiquiti UACC-Cable-C6A-CMR is a 305 m pull box of Category 6A horizontal cable intended for structured cabling inside buildings. Its CMR (riser) flame rating is the classification required for cable that runs vertically between floors through risers and shafts, where a fire can otherwise travel from storey to storey. The rating is established by the UL 1666 vertical-tray flame test, and the cable is constructed to UL 444 and CSA 22.2 No. 214. For horizontal runs inside air-handling plenum spaces, the plenum-rated UACC-Cable-C6A-CMP is the correct alternative; for everything else — riser shafts, wall cavities, conduit and cable tray — this CMR cable is the standard choice.

Electrically the cable is built for 10GBASE-T across a full 100 m channel. Each of the four pairs uses 23 AWG solid bare copper, and a central cross-shaped divider holds the pairs apart along the length of the run to control alien crosstalk, which is the limiting factor for 10 Gbps over unshielded Cat6A. Transmission performance is specified against ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, ISO/IEC 11801-1 (Edition 2.2) and IEC 61156-5 (Edition 2.1). The heavier 23 AWG conductor also matters for power: larger copper means lower DC resistance and less temperature rise in a loaded bundle, which is what allows the run to carry PoE++ (802.3bt, up to 90 W) to devices such as UniFi cameras, door readers, WiFi 7 access points and PoE displays without derating the channel.

The jacket is flame-retardant PVC (FRPVC) in white, 7.05 ±0.2 mm in diameter, with a minimum bend radius of 28.2 mm. Because it is UTP rather than shielded, there is no drain wire to bond and no shield continuity to maintain, which keeps termination time down across a large install and removes a common source of field faults. Termination is toolless when paired with the UniFi Cat6A keystone jack range. The cable can be installed at temperatures from 0 to 60°C and operates and stores from -20 to 75°C. It complies with EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS2) and EU Directive 2006/95/EC (LVD).

Each box holds 305 m of cable, measures 494 x 302 x 481 mm and weighs 19.3 kg, and is designed to be pulled directly from the carton without a reel stand. One box covers roughly ten to twelve typical 25–30 m horizontal drops, which makes it a practical ordering unit for a floor or a small-to-medium site. It is the cable Ubiquiti intends to be used behind UniFi switching, and it pairs directly with the UniFi Cat6A keystone jacks, couplers and patch panels for a single-vendor copper channel. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does CMR mean on Ethernet cable?

CMR stands for Communications Multipurpose Riser. It is a flame rating established by the UL 1666 vertical-tray test, and it is the rating required for cable that runs vertically between floors through risers and shafts, where fire could otherwise travel from storey to storey.

What is the difference between CMR and CMP cable?

CMP (plenum) is the higher rating and is required in air-handling plenum spaces, such as the void above a suspended ceiling used to return air. CMR (riser) is required for vertical runs between floors and is the correct choice everywhere that is not a plenum — risers, wall cavities, conduit and cable tray. The Ubiquiti equivalents are UACC-Cable-C6A-CMR (this product) and UACC-Cable-C6A-CMP.

How many outlets will a 305 m box of cable wire?

As a planning estimate, roughly ten to twelve outlets, assuming a typical horizontal drop of 25 to 30 m including slack and terminations. Longer runs or a large service loop will reduce that figure. The maximum permitted horizontal channel is 100 m.

Does the UACC-Cable-C6A-CMR support 10 Gigabit Ethernet?

Yes. It is a Category 6A cable specified for 10GBASE-T across a full 100 m channel, tested against ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, ISO/IEC 11801-1 (Edition 2.2) and IEC 61156-5 (Edition 2.1).

Can this cable carry PoE++ (802.3bt)?

Yes. The conductors are 23 AWG solid bare copper, a heavier gauge than the 24 AWG common in Cat5e and some Cat6. Larger copper means lower DC resistance and less temperature rise in a loaded bundle, which is what allows the run to deliver PoE++ (802.3bt, up to 90 W) to devices such as cameras, door readers, WiFi 7 access points and PoE displays.

Is the UACC-Cable-C6A-CMR shielded?

No. It is UTP (unshielded twisted pair). Alien crosstalk is controlled mechanically instead, by a central cross-shaped divider that holds the four pairs apart along the run. Because there is no shield, there is no drain wire to bond and no shield continuity to maintain, which removes a common source of field faults and speeds up termination.

Can this cable be used outdoors or underground?

No. Ubiquiti specifies it for indoor operating environments only. Its FRPVC jacket is not rated for UV exposure or direct burial. For outdoor runs, use a cable specified for that environment.

Is the conductor solid or stranded, and how is it terminated?

The conductor is solid bare copper, which is correct for fixed horizontal cabling but not for flexing patch leads. Terminate it to keystone jacks or a patch panel — the Ubiquiti UniFi Cat6A toolless keystone jack is designed for it — then use factory patch cords for the flexible last metre at each end.

What is the minimum bend radius and installation temperature?

The minimum bend radius is 28.2 mm. The cable can be installed at ambient temperatures from 0 to 60°C, and once installed it operates and stores from -20 to 75°C.

What standards and certifications does this cable meet?

Flame testing is UL 1666 (CMR). Material and construction are to UL 444 and CSA 22.2 No. 214, with EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS2) and EU Directive 2006/95/EC (LVD). Transmission performance is to ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, ISO/IEC 11801-1 (Edition 2.2) and IEC 61156-5 (Edition 2.1). Ubiquiti does not publish an AS/NZS listing for this cable, so confirm acceptance with your certifier if the job specifies an Australian standard.

Is it compatible with UniFi patch panels and keystone jacks?

Yes. It is the cable Ubiquiti intends to be used behind UniFi switching, and it pairs directly with the UniFi Cat6A toolless keystone jacks, keystone couplers and patch panels for a single-vendor copper channel.

What is the pair colour code?

Four twisted pairs: Pair 1 white/blue, Pair 2 white-orange/orange, Pair 3 white/green, Pair 4 white-brown/brown.
