TG-BT5-OUT is the industrial version of MikroTik's Bluetooth tag: cast in an industrial-grade mould with no seams to fail, it carries an IP69K rating, meaning it is dust-tight and survives close-range high-pressure, high-temperature wash-downs. That makes it usable where the indoor tag is not — on plant and heavy equipment, on materials moving around a construction site, in food processing, and anywhere a wash-down cycle would kill an ordinary tag. Unlike the indoor version it includes a temperature sensor accurate to plus or minus 0.5 degrees C, which is what makes it useful for cold-chain logistics and condition monitoring rather than presence detection alone.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to read these tags?

A Bluetooth gateway that can receive BLE advertisements — MikroTik's KNOT is the native option, and any device running RouterOS with a Bluetooth interface will also pick them up. Because the tag broadcasts standard iBeacon and Eddystone frames as well, third-party BLE gateways and asset-tracking platforms can read it too.

How is it different from the TG-BT5-IN?

The outdoor tag is fully sealed to IP69K and adds a temperature sensor; the indoor tag is not sealed to the same standard and has no temperature sensing. Both support the same beacon formats and the same NFC MAC and encryption options.

Can the battery be replaced?

No. The tag is cast as a sealed unit, which is precisely what gives it the IP69K rating. Plan on roughly five years of service at a one-second interval, and considerably longer at slower broadcast rates.

Is it suitable for cold-chain monitoring?

Yes. The temperature sensor is specified to plus or minus 0.5 degrees C and the tag operates from -20 degrees C, which covers chilled and most frozen transport applications.

Buying from ARC IP Networks

ARC IP Networks is a Melbourne-based network integrator in Blackburn, Victoria. MikroTik hardware sold here is genuine stock supplied through authorised Australian distribution, with manufacturer warranty handled locally and your rights under Australian Consumer Law on top of it.

Stock levels shown on this page are live. If an item is showing available it is physically obtainable, and if you need a quantity beyond what is listed, contact us and we will give you a real lead time rather than a guess.

We hold trade accounts for installers, integrators and electrical contractors, and we price match against any written quote from an Australian supplier. For project volumes it is worth talking to us directly rather than ordering line by line.

Beyond supply we design and deploy the networks this hardware runs on — structured cabling, PoE switching, wireless design, and GPON fibre infrastructure through our sister company ARC DATA.
