TG-LR82 packs temperature, humidity, motion and tilt sensing and a magnetic reed switch input into one IP67 tag, and reports over LoRaWAN — a radio designed for kilometres of range and years of battery life rather than bandwidth. Configurable profiles and event rules mean the tag can stay silent until something actually happens: a door opens, a temperature crosses a threshold, an asset moves. This is the 863-870 MHz version, built to pair with MikroTik's LR8 gateways. If you are deploying in Australia, the band you want is 915 MHz — see the TG-LR92 below.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the 868 MHz TG-LR82 in Australia?

The Australian LoRaWAN band is 915-928 MHz, and that is what the ACMA low interference potential devices class licence covers for this kind of equipment. For an Australian deployment order the TG-LR92 instead. The TG-LR82 is stocked here for export projects and for customers running equipment on the European band.

What gateway does it need?

A LoRaWAN gateway on the matching band — MikroTik's LR8 range is the native fit, and the tag will also join any standards-compliant LoRaWAN network server.

What does event-based telemetry mean in practice?

Rather than transmitting on a fixed timer, the tag can be configured to report when a rule fires — a temperature threshold crossed, the reed switch opening, movement detected. Fewer transmissions means less airtime and years more battery life.

What is the 2.4 GHz LoRa radio for?

2.4 GHz LoRa is not subject to the regional sub-gigahertz band allocations, so it can be used for deployments where the regional band is unavailable or congested. Range is shorter than on the sub-gigahertz bands.

Buying from ARC IP Networks

ARC IP Networks is a Melbourne-based network integrator in Blackburn, Victoria. MikroTik hardware sold here is genuine stock supplied through authorised Australian distribution, with manufacturer warranty handled locally and your rights under Australian Consumer Law on top of it.

Stock levels shown on this page are live. If an item is showing available it is physically obtainable, and if you need a quantity beyond what is listed, contact us and we will give you a real lead time rather than a guess.

We hold trade accounts for installers, integrators and electrical contractors, and we price match against any written quote from an Australian supplier. For project volumes it is worth talking to us directly rather than ordering line by line.

Beyond supply we design and deploy the networks this hardware runs on — structured cabling, PoE switching, wireless design, and GPON fibre infrastructure through our sister company ARC DATA.
