PowerShield PSRTBB12 overview

The PSRTBB12 adds a string of 12 x 12 V 9 Ah to a compatible PowerShield rack/tower UPS so the UPS can run longer on battery. PowerShield lists it for: PSCERT2000, PSCERT3000, PSCRT3000 (including the L long-run versions where listed).

Installation

The bank installs in a rack with the supplied ears or stands vertically, and connects to the UPS with the supplied DC battery cable (colour-coded Anderson plug). Further banks daisy-chain with additional cables. After connecting, change the battery Ah setting on the UPS front panel from the 9 Ah default, adding 18 Ah per bank connected, so the LCD shows the correct runtime. PowerShield warns not to connect the RJ11 detection cable to the SNMP card.

Battery replacement

When the batteries reach end of life, the PSRTBB12 takes PSBC6 x 2 replacement clamshell cartridges.
