The Hikvision DS-2SE3C404MWG-E/14 is a compact TandemVu camera with two 4 MP channels: a fixed 2.8 mm lens that watches the whole scene and a 4× optical PTZ that pans 350° to pull in detail. It adds human and vehicle detection, a built-in microphone and speaker, and runs on PoE+.

Why choose the DS-2SE3C404MWG-E/14

The DS-2SE3C404MWG-E/14 solves the classic PTZ problem: when the dome zooms in on one thing, it stops watching everything else. Here a fixed 4 MP 2.8 mm channel keeps a 114.9° overview recording at all times, while the 4 MP PTZ channel pans up to 350° and zooms 4× optically (2.8–12 mm) for detail. Human and vehicle detection drives line-crossing, intrusion and region entry/exit rules, and the built-in microphone and speaker let you listen and talk on site. It runs from a single PoE+ cable (max. 13.5 W) or 12 VDC. Supplied by ARC IP Networks from genuine Australian stock with local support.

Before you order: this is the compact 4× TandemVu — ideal for driveways, yards and shopfronts up to roughly 30–40 m. For car parks or long boundaries, step up to the 25× DS-2SE4C425MWG-E/14. Hikvision rates it for −30 to 50 °C and lists no specific anti-corrosion protection, so avoid exposed coastal positions.

Best for

  • Overview plus detail: a fixed wide view records continuously while the PTZ zooms in.
  • Small commercial sites: one cable and one mount instead of two cameras.
  • Fewer false alerts: human and vehicle detection filters out most nuisance triggers.
  • Talk-down: built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication.
  • Simple power: standard PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC.

Who it’s for

Residential

Long driveways and large blocks that need one camera covering gate and house.

Retail

Shopfronts and rear loading areas, with talk-down through the speaker.

Small business

Car parks and yards where an overview and a zoom view both matter.

Schools & clubs

Courtyards and entrances watched from a single pole or wall.

Farms & sheds

Machinery yards close to the building.

Installers

A compact TandemVu that runs on standard PoE+ switches and NVRs.

Professional Overview

The Hikvision DS-2SE3C404MWG-E/14 is an entry TandemVu PTZ network camera that combines two 4 MP imaging channels in a single outdoor housing. A fixed 2.8 mm channel provides a constant 114.9° overview, while a motorised pan-tilt-zoom channel delivers close-up detail of whatever the operator, a preset or an alarm rule points it at. It suits homes, retail fronts, small car parks and yards where a single mounting point has to do the work of two cameras.

Both channels use 1/2.8″ progressive scan CMOS sensors at 2560 × 1440. The PTZ lens runs from 2.8 to 12 mm (4× optical, 16× digital) with a horizontal field of view of 98° to 34.2°, infrared to 40 m, 350° of pan, 300 presets and eight patrols. The fixed channel uses hybrid IR and white light to 30 m. Hikvision rates 120 dB WDR, and lists BLC, HLC, 3D DNR and digital defog.

Human and vehicle detection underpins the line-crossing, intrusion and region entrance/exit rules, so alerts focus on people and vehicles. A built-in microphone and speaker allow audio monitoring and talk-down, and a microSD slot up to 512 GB provides local edge storage alongside NAS and ANR. The camera is ONVIF Profile S, G and T conformant and works with Hik-Connect and iVMS-4200.

The housing is IP66 rated with surge protection, operates from −30 to 50 °C, and draws a maximum of 13.5 W from PoE+ or 12 VDC. Australian warranty and local technical support come via ARC IP Networks. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Complete your system

This camera runs from a standard PoE+ (802.3at) port or 12 VDC (max. 13.5 W), so any Hikvision PoE NVR or PoE+ switch will power it. Both channels count as separate video channels on the recorder — allow two channels per camera.

Browse Hikvision NVRs →

Works with your system

Storage & bandwidth. H.265 compression keeps storage and network load down — important on a PTZ that streams two channels. Edge recording to microSD with ANR fills recording gaps after a network outage.

Hikvision NVRs

Each TandemVu channel records as its own camera; pair with a Hikvision AcuSense NVR for smart search.

Hik-Connect app

Live view, PTZ control, playback and push notifications on iOS and Android.

Desktop & VMS

Supported clients: iVMS-4200 and Hik-Connect.

ONVIF conformant

ONVIF Profile S, G and T for compatible third-party recorders and VMS.

PoE+ (802.3at)

Single-cable power and data, max. 13.5 W.

Frequently asked questions

TandemVu is Hikvision’s name for a PTZ camera with a second, fixed lens in the same housing. On the DS-2SE3C404MWG-E/14 the fixed 4 MP 2.8 mm channel keeps recording the wide scene while the 4 MP PTZ channel zooms in, so you never lose the overview.

The PTZ channel has a 2.8–12 mm lens with 4× optical zoom plus 16× digital zoom. Hikvision quotes a DORI identify distance of about 15.7 m at full zoom, so it is best for areas within roughly 30–40 m.

The PTZ channel has infrared up to 40 m. The fixed channel uses hybrid IR and white light, each up to 30 m.

Yes. Hikvision lists human and vehicle detection with line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting rules, plus audio exception detection.

Yes — it has one built-in microphone and one built-in speaker, so you can listen in and speak through the camera from the app or recorder that supports it.

PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC. Maximum consumption is 13.5 W.

Yes, it has a microSD/SDHC/SDXC slot supporting cards up to 512 GB, and supports NAS recording and ANR (auto network replenishment).

It is IP66 rated and works from −30 to 50 °C, but Hikvision classes it as having no specific anti-corrosion protection, so it is not intended for exposed coastal or chemical environments.
