Method 1 — Update through the app or software (easiest)
In Hik-Connect or the iVMS-4200 desktop software, an online upgrade option checks for and installs the correct firmware automatically. This is the simplest route for most users.
Method 2 — Update through the web interface (manual)
- Identify your model and version in the device’s web interface (System Information) or via the SADP tool.
- Download the correct firmware for your exact model and region from the Hikvision website.
- Log in to the device’s web interface and go to Configuration → System → Maintenance → Upgrade.
- Select the firmware file and start the upgrade. Do not power off — the device will reboot when finished.
