Why choose the PTZ-N4225I-DE

The HiLook PTZ-N4225I-DE is for genuine long-range work — acreage boundaries, depot and port fence lines, wide industrial sites. Its 25× optical zoom narrows to a 2.5° field of view at full telephoto, which is about the width of a person at 100 m, and 100 m infrared keeps working after dark. As with all cameras in this range, know the trade-off: 2 MP, and no auto-tracking or human/vehicle classification. It is a camera you drive to a target, not one that finds targets for you. Supplied and supported by ARC IP Networks with genuine Australian stock, Australian warranty and local support.

Worth knowing: this camera has no auto-tracking and no human or vehicle classification. It is built for reach — long optical zoom and 100 m infrared — not for deciding what matters on its own. If you want a PTZ that follows people automatically and warns them off, the HiLook PTZ-N3404LIU/SL does that at 4× zoom.

Best for

  • Long perimeters and driveways: 100 m infrared and long optical zoom reach where fixed cameras cannot.
  • Operator-driven monitoring: 360° endless pan with 300 presets and patrol routes.
  • Identifying at distance: real optical zoom resolves detail a digital crop cannot.
  • Harsh outdoor positions: 4000 V surge protection and −30 to 65 °C operation.

Who it’s for

Rural & acreage

Long driveways, boundaries and outbuildings.

Depots & ports

Fence lines and wide industrial yards.

Car parks

One camera covering ground that would take several fixed units.

Councils & clubs

Grounds and open reserves after hours.

Professional Overview

The HiLook by Hikvision PTZ-N4225I-DE is a high-performance 2MP Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) IP camera, meticulously engineered for expansive and dynamic surveillance applications requiring precise control and superior image quality. Featuring a 1/2.8" Progressive CMOS sensor, this camera delivers crisp 4-megapixel (2560x1440) video at up to 30 frames per second, ensuring clear and detailed footage critical for identifying subjects and monitoring events across vast areas. Its exceptional 25X optical zoom allows operators to remotely zoom in for close-up views of distant objects, capturing intricate details without any loss of clarity.

Designed to excel in all lighting conditions, the PTZ-N4225I-DE boasts impressive low-light capabilities, capturing color video down to 0.005 Lux and black & white at 0.001 Lux. Its powerful integrated IR illuminators provide an extensive night vision range of up to 100 meters, ensuring continuous, clear monitoring even in complete darkness across large outdoor spaces. The camera also features 120dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), which guarantees clear imaging in scenes with strong backlighting or high contrast, such as sun-drenched entrances or shaded perimeters, by intelligently balancing exposure levels.

The PTZ-N4225I-DE utilizes advanced H.265+ and H.265 compression technologies, significantly reducing bandwidth and storage requirements while maintaining high video quality. This makes it an economical choice for long-term recording and efficient network management without compromising the integrity of your surveillance data. Its robust construction is highlighted by an IP66 weather resistance rating, providing comprehensive protection against dust and powerful water jets, ensuring the camera remains fully operational even in demanding outdoor conditions.

Installation and power are simplified with dual options: traditional 12 VDC or Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), which allows both power and data transmission over a single cable, reducing cabling complexity and costs. With 24 programmable privacy masks, sensitive areas can be excluded from surveillance, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations while maintaining comprehensive security coverage. This PTZ camera is an ideal solution for a variety of commercial and industrial applications, including large parking lots, public squares, expansive building perimeters, and critical infrastructure, where dynamic, precise, and robust security monitoring with extended night vision capabilities is paramount.

How it compares

Both are 2 MP HiLook speed domes with 360° endless pan, 100 m infrared, 120 dB true WDR and 802.3at PoE+. The difference is optical reach — and the weather rating.

Complete your system

This camera records to a network video recorder and needs an 802.3at PoE+ port. For a PTZ that also classifies people and vehicles and actively warns intruders off, see the HiLook PTZ-N3404LIU/SL.

Frequently asked questions

No. The PTZ-N4225I-DE does not have auto-tracking, and Hikvision does not claim it for this model. It holds 300 presets, 8 patrols and 4 pattern scans, so it can run a set patrol route automatically, but it will not lock onto and follow a moving target. If auto-tracking matters, the HiLook PTZ-N3404LIU/SL supports it — at 4× zoom instead of 25×.

No. Its smart events are line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and exit, unattended baggage and object removal — without deep-learning human or vehicle classification. For AI that filters out animals and weather, pair it with AI fixed cameras or choose the PTZ-N3404LIU/SL.

Infrared reaches 100 m. Optically it zooms 25× across 4.8–120 mm, narrowing the field of view from 57.6° to 2.5° — at full telephoto that is a very narrow slice, which is what lets you pick out detail at distance.

Standard 802.3at PoE+ at a maximum of 18 W, or 12 V DC. It does not need a hi-PoE injector or special midspan — any Class 4 PoE+ port has ample headroom. It does not accept 24 V AC.

It has line in and line out for connecting an external microphone and speaker. There is no built-in microphone or speaker, and Hikvision does not claim two-way talk for this model.

No. This model has no active deterrence — no flashing light and no audible warning. For deterrence, the HiLook PTZ-N3404LIU/SL and the IPC-T269H-MU/SL both have a strobe and siren.

Yes. It is rated IP66 with 4000 V lightning and surge protection, and operates from −30 °C to 65 °C. No vandal (IK) rating is published.

Yes. It takes a microSD card up to 256 GB for on-board recording, as well as recording to a network video recorder.
