HiLook by Hikvision NS-0109P-60 – 8-Port Fast Ethernet Unmanaged PoE Switch, 60 W PoE Budget, 250 m Long-Range Mode
At a glance

The HiLook NS-0109P-60 is a compact 8-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged PoE switch from Hikvision’s HiLook Value Series. Eight 10/100 Mbps PoE ports share a 60 W PoE budget (up to 30 W on any one port, IEEE 802.3af/at), plus one 10/100 Mbps uplink port. An Extend mode carries data and power up to 250 m on all eight PoE ports, and every port has 6 kV lightning protection. Plug-and-play, no configuration. It runs from a 48 VDC supply.

Key features

  • 8 × 10/100 Mbps PoE ports + 1 × 10/100 Mbps uplink – power and connect up to eight IP cameras, then link the switch to your NVR, router or main network through the uplink port.
  • 60 W shared PoE budget with up to 30 W on a single port, so a PoE+ (802.3at) device can run alongside standard 802.3af cameras.
  • IEEE 802.3af / 802.3at PoE – works with standards-compliant PoE cameras, access points and IP phones, not just HiLook or Hikvision devices.
  • Extend mode for runs up to 250 m on ports 1–8 – well beyond the usual 100 m Ethernet limit, ideal for cameras on driveways, car parks and outbuildings.
  • High-priority ports 1–2 – connect your most important cameras here so their traffic is favoured when the switch is busy.
  • 6 kV lightning protection on all ports helps protect the switch and connected cameras from induced surges on outdoor cable runs.
  • 8-core power supply – Ethernet pairs 1/2/3/6 and 4/5/7/8 both carry power simultaneously, for compatibility with a wide range of PoE devices.
  • Store-and-forward, wire-speed, non-blocking – 1.8 Gbps switching capacity and 1.339 Mpps forwarding rate.
  • MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging with a 2K MAC address table and 1 Mbit internal cache – nothing to configure.
  • PoE power management and a metal, fan-free housing for silent operation in a cupboard, comms shelf or back office.

Specifications are from Hikvision’s official HiLook datasheet and Australian product page. Hikvision’s current listing names the hardware revision NS-0109P-60(B); the attached datasheet is for that revision. This is an unmanaged switch with Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) ports only.

Best for

  • CCTV systems with up to eight IP cameras where the NVR has no built-in PoE or no spare PoE ports.
  • Reaching gate, shed or car-park cameras up to 250 m away using Extend mode instead of a second switch.
  • Powering mostly fixed cameras plus one higher-draw PoE+ device within the 60 W budget.
  • Running PoE IP phones, small access points or intercoms from one compact switch.
  • Quiet installs in a home office, shop or ceiling space thanks to the fan-free metal housing.

HiLook PoE Switch FAQ – NS-0109P-60

It has eight PoE ports sharing a 60 W PoE budget, with up to 30 W on any single port. Add up the maximum power consumption of each camera from its datasheet and keep the total under 60 W.

No. All nine ports are 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, including the uplink. That suits most camera systems, where each stream uses only a few Mbps, but choose a gigabit switch for PCs, NAS units or heavy uplink traffic.

In Standard mode the switch follows the usual 100 m Ethernet limit. In Extend mode, ports 1–8 can deliver data and PoE up to 250 m. Use good-quality solid-copper Cat5e or Cat6 cable; actual distance depends on cable and the connected device.

Yes. The PoE ports follow IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, so it powers any standards-compliant PoE camera, access point or IP phone.

It is unmanaged: MAC addresses are learned automatically and there is nothing to configure. Plug cameras into ports 1–8, connect the uplink to your NVR, router or main switch, and power it on.

It runs from 48 VDC, 1.35 A. It draws about 5 W at idle and up to 65 W at full PoE load.

The (B) suffix is the current hardware revision name used on Hikvision’s product page and datasheet. The specifications on this page are taken from that official (B) datasheet.

Professional overview

The HiLook by Hikvision NS-0109P-60 is an 8-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged PoE switch built for small and medium IP video surveillance systems. It provides eight 10/100 Mbps PoE ports and one 10/100 Mbps uplink in a compact, fan-free metal housing, making it a simple way to power and network up to eight IP cameras with one cable each. It pairs with HiLook and Hikvision NVRs as well as third-party recorders.

Power delivery follows IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, with up to 30 W on any single port and a 60 W total PoE budget. Store-and-forward switching with 1.8 Gbps switching capacity, a 1.339 Mpps forwarding rate, 1 Mbit of cache and a 2K MAC address table gives every port wire-speed throughput. Ports 1 and 2 are high-priority ports, and an 8-core design feeds PoE over both cable pairs for broad device compatibility.

Extend mode lets all eight PoE ports carry data and power up to 250 m, so far-away gate, shed or car-park cameras can be reached without a second switch or a mains outlet. All ports have 6 kV lightning protection for added resilience on outdoor cable runs.

The switch is unmanaged and plug-and-play, with MAC auto-learning and auto-aging. It runs from 48 VDC, 1.35 A, uses about 5 W at idle, measures 170 × 27.6 × 93.1 mm and weighs 0.35 kg. It comes with the full manufacturer’s warranty. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
