The HiLook IPC-D261H-MU (2.8 mm) is a 6 MP AI vandal-resistant dome — the only model in the HiLook fixed range with a published IK10 impact rating. Infrared reaches 30 m, on-camera AI classifies people and vehicles, and the low dome profile is far harder to grab or knock out of line than a bullet.

Why choose the IPC-D261H-MU (2.8 mm)

The HiLook IPC-D261H-MU (2.8 mm) is built for positions where the camera itself is a target. Its IK10 rating — the only one published across the HiLook fixed range — means the housing is tested against a 20 joule impact, and the flush dome gives an attacker nothing to grab or lever. It also adjusts on three axes (pan 355°, tilt 75°, rotate 355°), so it lines up cleanly on a wall or a soffit. AI human and vehicle classification keeps alerts meaningful, with 30 m infrared and 120 dB WDR. Supplied and supported by ARC IP Networks with genuine Australian stock, Australian warranty and local support.

Best for

  • Dark approaches and boundaries: infrared reaching 30 m with 120 dB WDR for backlit entries.
  • Sites plagued by false alerts: on-camera AI separates people and vehicles from animals, rain and foliage.
  • Budget-conscious upgrades: HiLook pricing on standard 802.3af PoE, no licences.
  • Positions within reach: IK10 housing and a flush dome resist tampering and impact.

Professional Overview

The HiLook by Hikvision IPC-D261H-MU is an advanced 6MP AI dome IP camera engineered for high-performance surveillance in environments demanding both superior image quality and robust protection. Featuring an 6-megapixel (3200 × 1800) resolution and a 1/2.8" Progressive Scan CMOS sensor, this camera delivers exceptionally clear and detailed video, crucial for precise identification and monitoring. Its 2.8mm fixed lens provides a wide field of view, making it ideal for comprehensive coverage of various areas, from entrances to open spaces.

At its core, the IPC-D261H-MU incorporates deep learning algorithms, enabling accurate human and vehicle classification. This deep-learning AI capability drastically reduces false alarms, ensuring that security personnel are only notified of genuine threats, thereby enhancing response efficiency. The integrated microphone provides real-time audio security, adding a vital layer of acoustic information to visual surveillance, which is invaluable for event verification and evidence collection.

Designed to perform reliably in challenging conditions, this camera features 120 dB true WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology, ensuring balanced exposure and clear images even in scenes with strong backlighting. The efficient H.265+ compression technology optimizes video storage and bandwidth usage without compromising image quality. Built with a full metal housing, the IPC-D261H-MU offers exceptional durability. Its IP67 rating ensures complete protection against dust and water ingress, while the IK10 rating provides superior vandal resistance, making it suitable for deployment in high-risk or public areas.

With an IR night vision range of up to 30 meters, the IPC-D261H-MU provides continuous and clear monitoring even in total darkness. This dome camera is an ideal solution for businesses, commercial properties, and public facilities that require a dependable, high-resolution surveillance system with intelligent detection, integrated audio, and maximum resilience against environmental factors and potential tampering. It seamlessly integrates into existing HiLook or Hikvision NVR systems, offering a powerful and comprehensive security solution.

How it compares

Both are 6 MP AI cameras on standard 802.3af PoE with 120 dB WDR and a built-in microphone. The choice comes down to infrared reach versus vandal resistance.

Complete your system

This camera records to a network video recorder, which also powers it over PoE. It runs on standard 802.3af PoE, so any HiLook or Hikvision NVR PoE port or standard PoE switch will drive it.

Frequently asked questions

Infrared to 30 m (850 nm). The camera gives full colour by day and switches to black-and-white infrared at night.

IK10 is the highest impact rating in the IEC standard — the housing is tested against a 20 joule strike, roughly a 5 kg mass dropped from 40 cm. Combined with the flush dome shape, it makes the camera very difficult to disable by hand. This is the only model in the HiLook fixed range with a published IK rating.

No. The IPC-D261H-MU (2.8 mm) has a built-in microphone only — it records audio alongside video, but there is no speaker and no audio output, so two-way talk is not supported.

At full 6 MP it records 20 fps; drop to 4 MP or below and it runs 25 fps. Hikvision publishes a 50 Hz mode only for this model, which is the Australian standard.

Yes. It takes a microSD card up to 256 GB for on-board recording, as well as recording to a network video recorder.

Yes — Outdoor — IP67 and IK10 vandal-resistant, −30 to 60 °C.

It is ONVIF Profile S, G and works plug-and-play with HiLook and Hikvision NVRs. AI event search requires a recorder that supports it.
