DS-3T1506HP-EI-UPS
At a glance

The Hikvision DS-3T1506HP-EI-UPS is a 4-port gigabit industrial Hi-PoE switch built for solar and battery-backed sites. It runs from a mains adapter or a 12–24 V DC battery, keeping cameras powered through a mains or solar outage — a true uninterruptible feed. Port 1 gives 90 W Hi-PoE, and battery health is monitored remotely. The battery is supplied separately (there is no internal battery).

Why choose the DS-3T1506HP-EI-UPS

The Hikvision DS-3T1506HP-EI-UPS exists for sites off the grid or prone to power cuts — a solar-powered camera pole, a remote gate, a site where the cameras must stay up when the mains drops. It runs from a normal 54 V DC adapter or directly from a 12–24 V DC battery, and when the primary source fails the connected battery keeps the cameras running with no interruption — that is the "UPS" in the name. It is important to be clear: there is no battery inside; you connect your own solar battery to its DC terminals. It then monitors that battery’s health remotely (voltage and current, reported via Hik-Connect and Hik-Partner Pro over its RS485 port) and can run a power-saving schedule. Port 1 delivers 90 W Hi-PoE; ports 3–4 also offer 24 V passive PoE for wireless bridges. Fanless IP30 aluminium, −40 to 75 °C, DIN-rail or wall mount. Supplied and supported by ARC IP Networks, an authorised Australian Hikvision reseller, with genuine stock, Australian warranty and local support.

No internal battery. The battery-backup function uses an external 12–24 V DC battery you supply; the switch keeps cameras powered through an outage and monitors the battery remotely.

Best for

  • Business networks: VLANs put cameras on their own segment.
  • Reliability: PoE watchdog reboots a frozen camera without a site visit.
  • Remote sites: manage and monitor from the Hik-Partner Pro cloud.
  • Loop protection: STP/RSTP guards against accidental cabling loops.

How it compares

All Hikvision PoE switches share 300 m long-range transmission and 6 kV surge protection. The choice comes down to port count, gigabit vs Fast Ethernet, Hi-PoE, and managed vs unmanaged.

Complete your system

Pair this switch with Hikvision or HiLook PoE cameras and an NVR for a complete system. Count each camera’s wattage against the PoE budget, and leave a port or two spare for growth.

Frequently asked questions

It has a 120 W on 54 V DC, or 60 W on a 12–24 V battery input PoE budget. A typical HiLook or Hikvision turret draws about 6.5 W, so the budget comfortably runs its full complement of ports — roughly 4 standard cameras. High-draw cameras (PTZ, heated housings) use more, so count their wattage against the budget rather than the port count.

Yes. Port 1: up to 90 W Hi-PoE; ports 2–4: up to 30 W. The 802.3bt Hi-PoE ports supply up to 90 W, enough for pan-tilt-zoom cameras, heated housings and other high-draw devices that standard 30 W PoE cannot run.

A camera occasionally locks up and stops sending video while still drawing power. The PoE watchdog detects this and power-cycles that port automatically to reboot the camera — so a frozen camera fixes itself instead of needing a site visit.

Managed switches let you separate cameras onto their own VLAN (away from the office network), protect against cabling loops, prioritise video traffic and monitor the switch remotely. For a simple standalone camera system an unmanaged switch is fine; for a business network, or where the cameras share infrastructure with other systems, managed is worth it. This model is managed from a web page or the Hik-Partner Pro cloud.

Standard Ethernet stops at 100 m. In long-range mode this switch can power and connect a camera up to 300 m away over a single cable run — useful for a far gate or car park. Hikvision notes the reach varies with the camera model and cable condition.

In places a standard switch would fail — roadside cabinets, factory floors, unheated plant rooms, exposed poles. Its fanless metal body runs −40 to 75 °C with no moving parts, and it mounts on a DIN rail alongside other industrial equipment.

No. The “UPS” means it runs from an external battery you supply — connect a 12–24 V DC solar or backup battery to its DC terminals and it keeps the cameras powered through a mains or solar outage. It monitors that battery’s health remotely, but there is no battery inside the unit.

Yes. It is a standard PoE switch and works with any IEEE 802.3af/at/bt powered camera — Hikvision, HiLook or third-party — and connects to any NVR or network over its uplink or fibre SFP ports.

Yes — it is RCM approved to AS/NZS CISPR 32:2015, supplied as genuine Australian stock with warranty and support from ARC IP Networks.
