Why choose the DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I (4 mm)

The Hikvision DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I (4 mm) is the long-reach option in the AcuSense range. Where a typical camera runs out of usable infrared at 30 m, this one lights the scene to 60 m — the difference between watching a gate and watching the whole approach to it. Powered-by-DarkFighter imaging keeps 6 MP (3200 × 1800) detail in very low light before the infrared even engages, and Smart IR pulls the illumination back on close subjects so a face at 3 m is not a white blur. AcuSense classifies humans and vehicles on the camera itself, which matters far more on a long view: a 60–80 m scene contains a lot of moving foliage, and without classification your timeline fills with nothing. A 4 mm lens, 120 dB WDR against headlights and low sun, a built-in microphone and an IP67 housing round it out, all on standard 802.3af PoE. Supplied and supported by ARC IP Networks, an authorised Australian Hikvision reseller, with genuine local stock, Australian warranty and expert support.

Best for

  • When the scene is long: 60 m of infrared covers driveways, fence lines, paddocks and car parks end to end.
  • When false alarms are killing your system: AcuSense classifies people and vehicles on-device — essential on a wide view full of moving foliage.
  • When there is no lighting at all: Powered-by-DarkFighter plus long-range Smart IR works with zero ambient light.
  • When the scene has harsh contrast: 120 dB WDR keeps faces and plates readable against headlights or low sun.
  • When you are adding to an existing system: standard 802.3af PoE means no switch or NVR power upgrade.

Professional Overview

The Hikvision DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I(eF) is an advanced 6MP bullet network camera, part of the new G2H Series, meticulously engineered for high-performance outdoor surveillance. It delivers impressive 6-megapixel (3200x1800) resolution, capturing crisp and highly detailed video footage crucial for accurate identification and comprehensive monitoring. With a 4mm fixed lens, this camera provides a balanced field of view, making it ideal for monitoring various outdoor areas where a mix of wide coverage and specific detail is required, such as driveways, large yards, or commercial entrances.

This camera excels in challenging lighting conditions, boasting exceptional ultra-low light performance of just 0.001 Lux in color at F1.0, allowing it to capture vivid images even in near darkness. Complementing this, its powerful EXIR 2.0 infrared illumination extends night vision capabilities up to 60 meters (with 2 LEDs), ensuring clear and consistent monitoring around the clock. The advanced H.265+ compression technology significantly optimizes bandwidth and storage demands without compromising video quality, providing an efficient and economical solution for long-term surveillance archiving.

Designed for robust and flexible deployments, the DS-2CD2T66G2H-2I(eF) offers versatile power options with both DC12V and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, simplifying installation by enabling a single cable to transmit both power and data. For enhanced reliability and data redundancy, it includes a built-in micro SD/SDHC/SDXC slot supporting up to 256GB of local storage. Seamless integration with the HIK-Connect cloud service further provides convenient remote access, live viewing, and management from any location, ensuring constant connectivity and control over your security system.

Equipped with intelligent Video Content Analysis (VCA) functions, this camera can perform advanced event detection such as line crossing, intrusion detection, and motion detection, enhancing situational awareness and minimizing false alarms. Features like 3D DNR, BLC, and ICR further optimize image quality across varying light scenarios. The durable bullet design is built to withstand harsh outdoor elements, making it a dependable choice for a wide range of commercial and upscale residential security applications demanding high-resolution video, superior night vision, and reliable connectivity.

Frequently asked questions

It captures 6 MP (3200 × 1800) video, giving sharp detail for identifying faces, number plates and fine features across the scene.

AcuSense uses on-board deep-learning to classify humans and vehicles, so motion alerts and recordings trigger on people or cars rather than animals, rain or moving foliage. This dramatically reduces false alarms and is built in at no extra licence cost.

It is Powered by Darkfighter, combining a large sensor with excellent low-light sensitivity for detailed images in very dim conditions, plus built-in infrared for clear black-and-white video down to 0 lux in complete darkness.

This model records video only and does not include a built-in microphone; choose an “-ISU” variant if you need on-board audio and alarm input/output.

It runs on Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) or 12 VDC. PoE lets a single network cable carry both power and data from a compatible Hikvision NVR or PoE switch, simplifying installation.

Any Hikvision PoE NVR – for example the DS-7608NI-M2/8P (8-channel) or DS-7616NI-M2/16P (16-channel) – powers and records the camera over PoE with full AcuSense support and remote viewing through the Hik-Connect app.
