ARC-ONU-STICK-X

ARC DATA ARC-ONU-STICK-X at a glance

The ARC DATA ARC-ONU-STICK-X is an XGS-PON stick ONU: a complete 10G symmetric PON subscriber terminal inside a hot-pluggable SFP+ module. Plugged into a 10G SFP+ port on a router, switch or firewall, it terminates XGS-PON at 9.953 Gbps in each direction over up to 20 km of fibre. It draws under 3 W from the host and is rated -40 to 85 °C.

ARC DATA is the networking brand of the ARC group. Contact ARC IP Networks for ARC-ONU-STICK-X availability and project pricing.

The ARC DATA ARC-ONU-STICK-X in depth

10G symmetric, with no ONT box

The ARC-ONU-STICK-X puts a complete 10G PON subscriber terminal into a hot-pluggable SFP+ module. Plugged into a 10G SFP+ cage on a router, switch or firewall, it terminates an XGS-PON network at 9.953 Gbps symmetric and removes the external ONT from the premises.

Rated for cabinets, not just comms rooms

Stick ONUs often end up in street cabinets, plant rooms and rooftop enclosures. The module is rated for an industrial -40 to 85 °C case temperature and draws under 3 W from the host’s 3.3 V supply.

Diagnostics and web-managed firmware

DDM reports optical levels to the host, so link problems can be found from the host’s management. The web-managed firmware gives one-click web configuration and full visibility of registration state, on top of standard G.988 OMCI behaviour.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the ARC DATA ARC-ONU-STICK-X from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed November 2026.

It is a complete 10 gigabit symmetric PON subscriber terminal built into an SFP+ transceiver, PON MAC included. It plugs into a 10G SFP+ port on a router, switch or firewall, which then terminates the fibre itself instead of patching to a desktop ONT.

Routers, switches and firewalls with a 10G SFP+ cage that accepts third-party modules. The host sees a 10GE interface; the module terminates the PON.

No. It is a 10G PON module. On a GPON or EPON plant, use the ARC-ONU-STICK-G, which auto-adapts between EPON and GPON in a standard SFP cage.

No. NBN Co supplies and manages its own NTD at each premises, so this unit is not for NBN services. It works with your own XGS-PON OLT on a private fibre network, such as an estate, MDU, campus, hotel or ISP build.

Stick ONUs often sit in street cabinets, plant rooms and rooftop enclosures rather than air-conditioned rooms. The -40 to 85 °C case rating means the module suits places a desktop ONT cannot go.

DDM (digital diagnostic monitoring) lets the host read the module’s live transmit and receive power, temperature, supply voltage and laser bias current, so link problems can be found without test equipment on site.

Through web-managed firmware with one-click configuration and visibility of registration parameters, on top of standard ITU-T G.988 OMCI.

The box contains the SFP+ module only. You also need a host with a free 10G SFP+ port, an XGS-PON OLT, single-mode fibre, a splitter and the rest of the ODN. Call ARC IP Networks on 1300 100 440 for a matched bill of materials or project pricing.
