Yealink Conference Phones Compared: CP925, CP930W, CP935W and CP965 for Australian Meeting Rooms

Wired, DECT or Wi-Fi, SIP or native Teams: which Yealink conference phone fits a huddle room, a boardroom or a room with no cables.

Yealink's conference phones cover four situations: the CP925 for a wired SIP meeting room (7 microphones, 4" touch screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), the CP930W for cable-free huddle rooms on a Yealink DECT base, the CP935W for a fully wireless room on Wi-Fi with a built-in battery, and the CP965 (SIP or Microsoft Teams Edition) for large rooms with a 13-microphone array. All give 360° pickup to about 6 metres.

ARC IP Networks is a trusted Yealink supplier in Australia: genuine Yealink stock with the full manufacturer's warranty, delivered Australia-wide at competitive prices, with local pre-sales help for businesses, installers and IT providers.

Wired, DECT or Wi-Fi?

Wired (CP925, CP965)

A network cable to the table gives power (PoE) and the most reliable connection. Choose wired for permanent meeting rooms.

DECT (CP930W)

The CP930W registers to the same Yealink W70B base as your DECT handsets, so the phone is the only thing on the table and the room needs no floor box. Coverage is the base's DECT range, around 50 metres indoors.

Wi-Fi (CP935W)

The CP935W registers its SIP account directly over Wi-Fi and runs on its own battery, so it can move between rooms or sit on a table with no services at all. Charge it between meetings.

Hybrid meetings on a conference phone

Every model also works as a USB or Bluetooth speakerphone for a laptop, so one device covers the SIP call for the room and the Teams or Zoom meeting on someone's computer. For a room that lives on Teams full time, the CP965 Teams Edition replaces the laptop with its own Teams interface and calendar.

Conference phone or video bar?

If the room needs video, a MeetingBar A40 or A10 gives cameras, microphones and speakers in one device and usually costs little more than a flagship conference phone. If the room is audio-only, or your platform is a SIP PBX rather than Teams or Zoom, the conference phone is the right tool.

Common questions

The CP925 for a wired room on a SIP phone system (7 microphones, 4-inch touch screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB-C), or the CP930W if the table has no network cable, since it connects over DECT to a Yealink W70B base.

The CP930W connects over DECT to a Yealink W70B base station and has 3 microphone arrays. The CP935W registers over Wi-Fi with no base, has a 6-microphone array, a 4-inch touch screen and a built-in 7800 mAh battery.

The CP965 Microsoft Teams Edition runs native Teams on Android with a 13-microphone array, a 5-inch touch screen and tap-to-join from the Outlook calendar. The standard CP965 is a SIP conference phone that can also act as a USB or Bluetooth speakerphone for a Teams laptop.

All current models give 360-degree pickup to about 6 metres (20 feet), which covers a typical boardroom table. For longer tables, a video bar with VCM35 Pro extension microphones or a CM20 ceiling microphone is the alternative.

Yes. The CP925, CP930W, CP935W and CP965 all work as a USB or Bluetooth speakerphone for a laptop, so the room can host a Teams, Zoom or Google Meet call through the phone's microphones and speaker.

The wired CP925 and CP965 are PoE powered. The CP930W and CP935W run on built-in batteries and charge between meetings, so they need no cable at the table.
