UniFi AI Multi Sensor 2: Ubiquiti's Dual-Lens AI Camera Explained (2026 Australian Guide)

One camera, two independently aimed 4K lenses — what the AI Multi Sensor 2 does, its full specifications, and how to get it in Australia.

The UniFi AI Multi Sensor 2 is Ubiquiti's answer to a problem every installer knows: one view is never enough. Two independently aimed 4K lenses, a Multi-TOPS AI engine and 2.33× optical zoom in a single all-weather PoE+ housing — one camera, one cable, two simultaneous views. In Australia it will be available through ARC IP Networks, an authorised Ubiquiti reseller, as genuine Australian stock with the full manufacturer warranty.

What is the AI Multi Sensor 2?

Most cameras force a choice: go wide and lose detail, or zoom in and lose context. The AI Multi Sensor 2 (model UVC-AI-MS-2-W) refuses the trade-off. Behind its single face sit two separate 8MP sensors on independently adjustable lenses — aim one across the whole carpark and point the other, with up to 2.33× optical zoom, at the entry gate. Both streams record simultaneously to UniFi Protect, and the on-board Multi-TOPS AI engine runs smart detections on the camera itself rather than on your recorder.

It is built for exposed Australian conditions: IP66 weatherproofing, IK10 vandal resistance, adaptive IR night vision to 20 m and an operating range of -20 to 50°C — all fed by one PoE+ run from a UniFi PoE switch.

Why the dual-lens design matters

On a real site, the AI Multi Sensor 2 replaces two cameras — and the second cable run, mount and alignment visit that come with them.

AI Multi Sensor 2 vs AI Multi Sensor 4

AI Multi Sensor 2
2 adjustable lenses · 16MP combined · 20 m IR
Best for a wide view plus one detail view — walls, corners, entries.
4 adjustable lenses · 32MP combined · 360° IR
Best when one mounting point must see in every direction.

Both live in the same UniFi Protect camera range and manage identically.

What you need to run it

Three things: a UniFi Protect console to record, a PoE+ port to power it, and enough storage for two 4K streams — our storage sizing guide covers the maths and the UNVR shopping list covers everything else. Browse the full UniFi range for consoles and switches to match.

Frequently asked questions

What is the UniFi AI Multi Sensor 2?

The UniFi AI Multi Sensor 2 (UVC-AI-MS-2) is an all-weather PoE+ security camera from Ubiquiti with two independently adjustable 4K lenses in one housing, a Multi-TOPS AI engine and 2.33x optical zoom — so a single camera can watch a wide area and a zoomed-in detail view at the same time.

Can the AI Multi Sensor 2 be used outdoors in Australia?

Yes — it is rated IP66 weatherproof and IK10 impact resistant, with an operating range of -20 to 50 degrees C, so it suits exposed Australian outdoor installs including carparks, entries and loading docks.

Does the AI Multi Sensor 2 need a UniFi NVR?

Yes — like all UniFi Protect cameras it records to a UniFi Protect console such as a UNVR, UNVR Pro or a Dream Machine with Protect, and it is powered by a single PoE+ cable from your switch.

What is the difference between the AI Multi Sensor 2 and AI Multi Sensor 4?

The AI Multi Sensor 2 has two adjustable 8MP lenses (16MP total), while the AI Multi Sensor 4 has four adjustable lenses (32MP total) with 360-degree IR — the 4 covers more directions from one point, the 2 suits sites that need a wide view plus one detail view.

Where can I buy the AI Multi Sensor 2 in Australia with warranty?

In Australia the AI Multi Sensor 2 will be available from ARC IP Networks (arcip.com.au), an authorised Ubiquiti reseller — genuine Australian stock with the full manufacturer warranty, claimable locally. Ubiquiti currently lists it as Coming Soon for the Australian market.
