The wAP ax LTE7 kit is the successor to the popular wAP ac LTE6, and the upgrade is substantial: dual-band WiFi 6 in place of 802.11ac, a CAT7 LTE modem that doubles upload throughput to 100 Mbps, a stronger dual-core ARM platform, and higher antenna gain — all inside MikroTik's next-generation IP66 weatherproof enclosure with a concealed anti-vandal screw behind the logo. It is built for the places a normal access point cannot go: a rural property or holiday house with no fixed line, a caravan park amenities block, a gas station forecourt, a bus stop, a construction site office. One unit provides the uplink and the Wi-Fi, powered over a single Ethernet run.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on Australian mobile networks?

The modem covers LTE band 28 at 700 MHz and band 3 at 1800 MHz, which are the backbone of Telstra, Optus and Vodafone coverage, along with bands 1, 5, 7, 8 and 20 and TDD bands 40 and 41. Band 28 in particular is what gives usable service in rural and fringe areas. It takes a Micro SIM.

How is it powered?

Either from the supplied DC jack input at 12-57 V or over Ethernet using an 802.3af/at PoE injector or switch at 18-57 V. Maximum draw is 13 W, so a standard PoE port is more than adequate, and a single Ethernet run carries both the data and the power to the roof or pole.

What has changed from the wAP ac LTE6?

Wi-Fi moves from 802.11ac to Wi-Fi 6, the modem goes from CAT6 to CAT7 with double the upload speed, the CPU becomes a faster dual-core ARM, antenna gain is higher, and the enclosure is MikroTik's improved IP66 design with a hidden anti-vandal screw. Band 28 and band 32 support is added.

Can I use it as an access point only, without a SIM?

Yes. It is a full RouterOS device with two Gigabit Ethernet ports, so it works perfectly well as a weatherproof outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point or router on a wired uplink, with the LTE modem left unused or configured as a failover path.

Buying from ARC IP Networks

ARC IP Networks is a Melbourne-based network integrator in Blackburn, Victoria. MikroTik hardware sold here is genuine stock supplied through authorised Australian distribution, with manufacturer warranty handled locally and your rights under Australian Consumer Law on top of it.

Stock levels shown on this page are live. If an item is showing available it is physically obtainable, and if you need a quantity beyond what is listed, contact us and we will give you a real lead time rather than a guess.

We hold trade accounts for installers, integrators and electrical contractors, and we price match against any written quote from an Australian supplier. For project volumes it is worth talking to us directly rather than ordering line by line.

Beyond supply we design and deploy the networks this hardware runs on — structured cabling, PoE switching, wireless design, and GPON fibre infrastructure through our sister company ARC DATA.
