  • CR123A lithium cell rated for up to six years of service
  • Peak consumption of just 27.7 mW, which is what makes the battery figure achievable

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to run these?

A UniFi SuperLink Gateway. The sensors use sub-GHz radio rather than WiFi, and the gateway bridges them into UniFi Protect. Without one they have nothing to report to.

What is the actual range?

Up to 2 km line of sight. In practice that means a front gate, a shed at the back of a property or a second building can be monitored without extending the network to them — which is the whole reason for choosing SuperLink over a WiFi sensor.

How does it mount?

As a two-part reed switch: the sensor body on the frame and a magnet on the moving door or window leaf. When the two separate, the sensor reports open. Alignment matters — follow the maximum gap in the installation guide, particularly on doors that have dropped.

What battery does it take, and can I replace it?

A single CR123A 3 V lithium cell, which is a widely available size. It is user-replaceable, and at up to six years of life you will not be doing it often.

Can I use these on a roller door or gate?

Yes, provided you can mount the sensor and magnet so they stay within the switching gap through the full travel. On sliding gates and roller doors the alignment is the thing to get right — mount at the closed position and check the gap there.

Buying from ARC IP Networks

ARC IP Networks is an authorised Ubiquiti reseller based in Blackburn, Melbourne. Every unit we ship is genuine Australian stock with full Ubiquiti manufacturer warranty and local RMA support, backed by your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Stock levels shown on this page are live. If an item is showing available it is physically obtainable, and if you need a quantity beyond what is listed, contact us and we will give you a real lead time rather than a guess.

We hold trade accounts for installers, integrators and electrical contractors, and we price match against any written quote from an Australian supplier. For project volumes it is worth talking to us directly rather than ordering line by line.

Beyond supply we design and deploy the networks this hardware runs on — structured cabling, PoE switching, network design, and GPON fibre infrastructure through our sister company ARC DATA.
