Features

  • UniFi Access 2-door retrofit hub — designed to drop into an existing third-party access-control enclosure and convert two doors into UniFi Access endpoints without re-pulling cables.
  • Supports both Wiegand and OSDP reader protocols — works with third-party readers already on site or with Ubiquiti's UniFi Retrofit Reader, so existing card readers and credentials don't have to be replaced on day one.
  • Two independent door channels, each with: 1 reader input (Wiegand or OSDP), 1 door exit request (REX), 1 door position sensor input, and lock relay output.
  • Plus a single Emergency input for fire/break-glass integration with site safety systems.
  • Lock outputs are flexible: dry relay (30V DC, up to 1A) for external-power configurations, or built-in powered relay outputs at 12V (up to 1A) or 24V (up to 0.5A) selectable via on-device switch.
  • Up to 10,000 users per hub — designed for medium-density commercial buildings, multi-tenant tenancies and small-to-mid campus deployments.
  • DC powered — 12/24V DC supply (e.g. UACC-Retrofit-PSU-12V), 50W max consumption.
  • Two 10/100 MbE RJ45 networking ports — chain-through wiring without needing a switch in the controller enclosure.
  • DIN rail mount included — slides straight into standard 35 mm DIN rails in existing access-control cabinets.
  • Polycarbonate enclosure with SGCC steel mount, 140 × 120 × 45 mm, 420 g; indoor only.
  • Centrally managed through UniFi Access alongside other UniFi Access readers, hubs, intercoms and the UniFi Network estate — no per-door licensing.
  • (1) factory reset button + (2) 12V/Dry/24V switches for lock voltage selection.
  • Operating range -10 to 40 °C, 5–90% non-condensing humidity.
  • Certifications: CE, FCC, IC.

Professional Overview

The UniFi UA-Retrofit-Hub-2 is the second-generation UniFi Access controller designed specifically for retrofit deployments — sites where an existing third-party access-control system is in place, the cabling and reader hardware on the doors are still good, but the controller and management platform need to come into the UniFi Access ecosystem. Each hub takes over two doors and can drive either Wiegand or OSDP readers — covering essentially every reader brand sold over the last two decades.

The terminal layout is engineered for in-cabinet swap-out. Each of the two door channels carries one reader input (Wiegand or OSDP, software-selectable), one door exit request (REX) input, one door position sensor input, and one lock relay output, plus a single building-wide Emergency input for break-glass / fire-trigger integration with the site's safety system. Lock outputs are deliberately flexible: a dry relay rated 30V DC at 1A handles external-power lock topologies, and a built-in powered relay drives 12V locks at 1A or 24V locks at 0.5A — voltage is selected on-device via a physical switch, so a single hub SKU covers both common lock voltages.

Sizing is appropriate for medium-density commercial buildings: up to 10,000 users per hub, with two 10/100 MbE RJ45 ports that chain-through so multiple hubs can be wired in an enclosure without needing a separate switch port for each. Power is DC 12V or 24V (50W max) — the matching UACC-Retrofit-PSU-12V wall PSU provides clean 12V/5A with optional SLA backup-battery support, so the doors stay live during mains failure. DIN rail mount is included in the box, which means the hub slides straight into the standard 35 mm DIN rails already present in third-party access-control cabinets.

Mechanically the hub is a 140 × 120 × 45 mm polycarbonate device weighing 420 g, indoor-rated, operating from -10 to 40 °C and 5–90% non-condensing humidity. Configuration runs entirely through UniFi Access alongside other UniFi Access readers, hubs, intercoms and the broader UniFi Network estate — no per-door licensing, no separate access-control management platform. Certifications cover CE, FCC and IC. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
