Specifications from Ubiquiti's official product data for the U7-Lite, checked October 2026.

The UniFi U7 Lite in depth

Where the U7 Lite fits

The U7 Lite brings WiFi 7 features such as 240 MHz channels on 5 GHz and 4K-QAM to a small, light (313 g) ceiling puck. It has no 6 GHz radio, which keeps the price and power draw down. For most homes and small offices the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands are more than enough.

Radios and throughput

Both bands are 2x2 MU-MIMO in both directions. Ubiquiti rates the 5 GHz radio at up to 4.3 Gbps (240 MHz) and 2.4 GHz at up to 688 Mbps. The 2.5 GbE uplink means the AP is not held back by a 1 GbE port when fast clients are close by.

Power and installation

Maximum draw is 13 W, so any 802.3af PoE port works, including small switches such as the USW-Lite-8-PoE. The Lite mount is included and supports ceiling or wall installation.

Planning coverage

Use the 115 m² figure as a guide for an open room; walls, glass and kitchens cut it down. In a typical house or small office, one U7 Lite covers two to three rooms, and a second unit gives seamless roaming through UniFi. Mount it on the ceiling in the middle of the space you want to cover, not in a cupboard or near the router.

Management

The U7 Lite is managed in UniFi Network 9.0.114 or later from a UniFi gateway, Cloud Key or self-hosted controller, with no licence fees. It can be set up and monitored from the UniFi mobile app as well.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the UniFi U7 Lite from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

The U7-Lite is Ubiquiti's UniFi U7 Lite, a compact ceiling-mounted WiFi 7 access point with 4 spatial streams on 2.4 and 5 GHz, about 115 m² coverage and 200+ client support.

No. The U7 Lite is dual-band (2.4 and 5 GHz). For 6 GHz, choose the U7 Pro or higher.

Standard PoE (802.3af) is enough. Ubiquiti lists a maximum power draw of 13 W.

One 2.5 GbE RJ45 port, which also carries power.

Choose the U7 Lite for smaller or less busy spaces (115 m², 200+ clients, no 6 GHz). Choose the U7 Pro for larger, busier areas and 6 GHz clients (140 m², 300+ clients, 6 streams).

No. It is managed free in UniFi Network 9.0.114 or later.

Yes. The included Lite mount supports ceiling or wall installation.

As a guide, one U7 Lite covers about 115 m² of open space. Walls and floors reduce that, so most homes and small offices use one per floor or one per two to three rooms, all managed together in UniFi Network for seamless roaming.
