At a glance

The HiLook NS-0106P-35 is a compact layer 2 unmanaged PoE switch with four 10/100 Mbps PoE ports and two 10/100 Mbps RJ45 uplink ports. The PoE ports share a 35 W budget (up to 30 W on any one port, IEEE 802.3af/at), a DIP switch enables an Extend mode for runs up to 250 m, and the PoE ports have 6 kV surge protection. Two uplinks let you connect both an NVR and a router, or daisy-chain another switch. Plug-and-play, 48 VDC powered. Hikvision Australia now lists this model as discontinued.

  • DIP-switch Extend mode up to 250 m on ports 1–4 – more than double the standard 100 m Ethernet distance.
  • High-priority ports 1 and 2 – for the cameras that matter most.
  • 6 kV surge protection on the PoE ports, plus a rear grounding terminal for outdoor cable runs.
  • 8-core power supply – Ethernet pairs 1/2/3/6 and 4/5/7/8 supply power simultaneously.
  • Store-and-forward, wire-speed forwarding – 1.6 Gbps switching capacity, 0.8928 Mpps forwarding rate, 768 Kbits cache and a 4K MAC address table.

HiLook PoE Switch FAQ – NS-0106P-35

The two 10/100 Mbps RJ45 uplinks (ports 5 and 6) let you connect the switch to an NVR and a router at the same time, or cascade to another switch, while ports 1–4 power cameras.

It has four PoE ports sharing a 35 W budget, up to 30 W on any one port. Keep the total maximum draw of your devices under 35 W; the PoE-MAX indicator lights when the limit is near.

No. All six ports are 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, which is ample for typical camera streams. Choose a gigabit switch for PCs, NAS units or heavy traffic.

Set the Extend DIP switch on the rear panel to ON. Ports 1–4 then support data and PoE up to 250 m. Use quality solid-copper Cat5e or Cat6 cable.

Yes. The PoE ports follow IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, so standards-compliant devices from any brand are supported.

It runs from 48 VDC, 0.8 A, using under 5 W at idle and up to 38 W at full load.

Yes. Use one of the two uplink ports on the first switch to connect to an uplink port on the second. This is a simple way to add cameras at a second location, as long as the total traffic stays within the Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) uplink.

Indoors in a dry, ventilated spot such as a comms cupboard, shelf or ceiling space. The operating range is −10 °C to 40 °C, so avoid hot roof spaces in summer. Connect the rear grounding terminal where cables run outdoors to make the most of the surge protection.

Hikvision Australia lists it as discontinued. It remains a fully specified HiLook product; the specifications here are from Hikvision’s official page and datasheet.

Professional overview

The HiLook by Hikvision NS-0106P-35 is a layer 2 unmanaged PoE switch for small IP surveillance systems. It combines four 10/100 Mbps PoE ports with two 10/100 Mbps RJ45 uplink ports in a compact, fan-free metal shell, so four cameras can be powered and networked while the switch connects to both a recorder and a router.

PoE follows IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, with up to 30 W per port and a 35 W total budget. Store-and-forward switching with 1.6 Gbps capacity, 0.8928 Mpps forwarding, 768 Kbits of cache and a 4K MAC table keeps every port at wire speed. Ports 1 and 2 are high-priority ports, and power is fed over both cable pairs for broad device compatibility.

A rear DIP switch turns on Extend mode, letting ports 1 to 4 carry data and power up to 250 m. The PoE ports have 6 kV surge protection and the rear panel has a grounding terminal. Front-panel PWR, PoE-MAX, link and PoE indicators make it easy to check status at a glance.

The switch runs from 48 VDC, 0.8 A, uses under 5 W at idle and measures 145 × 68.45 × 25.6 mm. Hikvision Australia lists it as discontinued. It comes with the full manufacturer’s warranty. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
