HiLook by Hikvision NS-0105P-35 – 4-Port Fast Ethernet Unmanaged PoE Switch, 35 W PoE Budget, 250 m Long-Range Mode
At a glance

The HiLook NS-0105P-35 is a compact 4-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged PoE switch from Hikvision’s HiLook Value Series. Four 10/100 Mbps PoE ports share a 35 W PoE budget (up to 30 W on any one port, IEEE 802.3af/at), plus one 10/100 Mbps uplink. An Extend mode carries data and power up to 250 m, and every port has 6 kV surge protection. Plug-and-play, no configuration.

Key features

  • 4 × 10/100 Mbps PoE ports + 1 × 10/100 Mbps uplink – power and connect up to four IP cameras, then link the switch to your NVR, router or main network through the uplink.
  • 35 W shared PoE budget with up to 30 W on a single port, so a PoE+ (802.3at) device can run alongside standard 802.3af cameras.
  • IEEE 802.3af / 802.3at PoE – works with standards-compliant PoE cameras, access points and IP phones, not just HiLook or Hikvision devices.
  • Extend mode for runs up to 250 m on ports 1–4 – well beyond the usual 100 m Ethernet limit, ideal for cameras at the far end of a car park, driveway or warehouse.
  • High-priority ports 1–2 – plug your most important cameras in here so their traffic and power are looked after first when the switch is busy.
  • 6 kV surge protection on the PoE ports helps protect the switch and connected cameras from induced surges on outdoor cable runs.
  • 8-core power supply – Ethernet pairs 1/2/3/6 and 4/5/7/8 both carry power, for compatibility with a wide range of PoE devices.
  • Store-and-forward, non-blocking design – 1 Gbps switching capacity and 0.744 Mpps forwarding rate give every port wire-speed throughput.
  • MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging with a 1K MAC address table – nothing to configure, just plug in and go.
  • Solid metal housing, fan-free – silent operation and good heat dissipation for a cupboard, comms shelf or back office.

Best for

  • Small CCTV systems with up to four IP cameras where the NVR has no built-in PoE, or has no spare PoE ports.
  • Adding cameras at a remote building, gate or shed, using the 250 m Extend mode instead of installing a second comms cabinet.
  • Powering a mix of fixed cameras and one higher-draw PoE+ device such as a compact PTZ, within the 35 W total budget.
  • Running PoE IP phones, small access points or door intercoms from a single compact switch.
  • Tidy, silent installs in a home office, shop counter or ceiling space thanks to the fan-free metal housing.

Who it’s for

Security installers

A dependable, low-cost PoE switch for four-camera jobs, with long-range mode for those awkward far-end cameras.

Small businesses

Power cameras around a shop, café or office without extra power points or a rack.

Homeowners

Add IP cameras to a home network or extend an existing HiLook or Hikvision NVR system.

Farms and rural sites

Reach sheds, gates and outbuildings up to 250 m away on a single cable run.

Electricians and integrators

A no-configuration switch you can install and leave – no management interface to secure.

Property managers

Expand camera coverage on car parks and common areas cost-effectively.

HiLook PoE Switch FAQ – NS-0105P-35

It has four PoE ports sharing a 35 W PoE budget, with up to 30 W available on a single port. Most fixed turret and bullet IP cameras draw well under 10 W, so four typical cameras usually fit within the budget. Add up the maximum power consumption shown on each camera’s datasheet and keep the total under 35 W.

No. All five ports are 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, including the uplink. That is ample for most small camera systems, because a single IP camera stream typically uses only a few Mbps, but if you are connecting PCs or NAS units that need gigabit speeds, choose a gigabit switch instead.

In its default Standard mode the switch behaves like any Ethernet switch, with the usual 100 m cable limit. Switching to Extend mode lets ports 1–4 deliver data and PoE up to 250 m. Use good-quality solid-copper Cat5e or Cat6 cable for long runs, as real-world distance depends on cable quality and the connected device.

Yes. The PoE ports follow IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, so the switch powers any standards-compliant PoE device – HiLook, Hikvision or third-party cameras, access points and IP phones.

No. The NS-0105P-35 is unmanaged: it learns MAC addresses automatically and needs no setup. Plug your cameras into ports 1–4, connect port 5 (uplink) to your NVR, router or main switch, and power it on. The only option is the Extend-mode selection for long cable runs.

A single port can supply up to 30 W (802.3at), which suits many compact PTZ cameras. Remember that the whole switch has a 35 W budget, so a 25–30 W PTZ leaves little power for other cameras. Large PTZs, heated housings or devices needing 802.3bt Hi-PoE require a higher-budget switch.

Ports 1 and 2 are high-priority ports. Connect your most important cameras – for example the front door or cash register – to these ports so their traffic is favoured when the switch is under load.

Professional overview

The HiLook by Hikvision NS-0105P-35 is an entry-level, 4-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged PoE switch built for small IP video surveillance systems. It provides four 10/100 Mbps PoE ports and one 10/100 Mbps uplink in a compact, fan-free metal housing, making it a simple way to power and network up to four IP cameras from a single cable each. It suits homes, small shops, offices and remote outbuildings, and pairs naturally with HiLook and Hikvision NVRs as well as third-party recorders.

Power delivery follows IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, with up to 30 W available on any single port and a 35 W total PoE budget. The switch uses store-and-forward switching with a 1 Gbps switching capacity, a 0.744 Mpps forwarding rate, 448 Kbits of internal cache and a 1K MAC address table, so every port runs at wire speed without blocking. Ports 1 and 2 are high-priority ports for the cameras that matter most, and an 8-core power design feeds PoE over both cable pairs for broad device compatibility.

Its most useful feature for installers is Extend mode. Standard Ethernet stops at 100 m, but in Extend mode ports 1 to 4 carry data and power up to 250 m. That makes it practical to reach a gate camera, a shed or the far side of a car park without adding a second switch, a mains outlet or a media converter. Every PoE port also has 6 kV surge protection, adding a layer of resilience on long outdoor cable runs.

The NS-0105P-35 is unmanaged and plug-and-play, with MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging, so there is no interface to configure, patch or secure. It runs from a 48 V DC, 0.8 A supply, draws just 3 W at idle, and its solid metal shell dissipates heat silently.
