The TP-Link Omada MCRP100 is a hot-swappable redundant power supply module that converts 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz input into 12 V DC output at a rated 75 W (12 V / 6.25 A). It has output over-voltage, short-circuit and over-current protection, its own fan, and TP-Link lists it as applicable to the 14-Slot Rackmount Chassis MC1400.

MCRP100 overview

The MCRP100 is TP-Link's Omada 100-240 V redundant power supply module. TP-Link describes it as an AC-input, DC-output power supply module: it converts 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz input voltage into a 12 V DC output with a rated wattage of 75 W. The AC input rating is 100-240 V~ 50/60 Hz 1.8 A, and the DC output is 12 V / 6.25 A. TP-Link lists the MCRP100 as applicable to the 14-Slot Rackmount Chassis MC1400, so it is a power module for that chassis rather than a stand-alone power supply for other equipment. Before ordering, confirm that the chassis in your rack is the MC1400 named in TP-Link's documentation, and check the chassis documentation for how its power modules are installed.

Protection is built into the module. TP-Link states that the MCRP100 supports output over-voltage, short-circuit and over-current protection, and the datasheet also lists overload protection among its hardware features. The datasheet also lists the module as hot-swappable. As its name says, it is a redundant power supply module, and TP-Link's highlights for it are short: up to 75 watts of output power, and output over-voltage, short-circuit and over-current protection. Those are the figures to compare against the power requirements of the chassis and the modules installed in it.

Cooling and status are handled on the module itself. The MCRP100 has one fan, and its LEDs show power and fan status, so you can see at a glance whether the module is powered and whether its fan is running. The module measures 193.4 x 162.3 x 42.2 mm (7.6 x 6.4 x 1.7 in). TP-Link rates it for an operating temperature of 0 to 40 °C at 10 to 90 % RH non-condensing, and a storage temperature of -40 to 70 °C. When you plan the installation, allow for these operating limits in the room or cabinet where the chassis is mounted.

In summary, the MCRP100 is the power module TP-Link lists for the 14-Slot Rackmount Chassis MC1400. Its specifications are specific: 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 1.8 A in; 12 V DC, 6.25 A out; 75 W rated; output over-voltage, short-circuit, over-current and overload protection; hot-swap support; one fan; and power and fan LEDs. TP-Link publishes a datasheet for the MCRP100, and support downloads are on TP-Link's Australian support site. If you would like to confirm compatibility with your chassis before ordering, the ARC IP Networks team can check the TP-Link documentation with you on 1300 100 440. ARC IP Networks supplies the MCRP100 from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.
