DWM-314-G FAQ

Does the DWM-314-G work with Australian 5G carriers (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone)?

Yes. The DWM-314-G supports 3GPP Rel. 16 5G NR Sub-6 GHz (SA and NSA) and 4G LTE Cat.19, and is RCM-certified for Australia — compatible with Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone/TPG 5G and 4G networks via standard 3FF Micro-SIM cards. Band 28 support covers Australian low-band 4G coverage.

How does the dual-SIM auto-failover work?

The DWM-314-G has two Micro-SIM (3FF) slots. Insert two SIMs from different carriers and the router will automatically fail over to the secondary SIM if the primary connection becomes unavailable — critical for mission-sensitive M2M deployments such as EV chargers, ATMs, smart parking meters, and remote surveillance where downtime is expensive.

What VPN protocols does the DWM-314-G support?

The DWM-314-G supports two modern VPN clients natively: OpenVPN and WireGuard. Both run in client mode and terminate a VPN tunnel from the device to a central concentrator, securing all traffic from the connected LAN devices. This is ideal for site-to-cloud or site-to-headquarters M2M security.

Does the DWM-314-G have any Wi-Fi, or is it purely cellular + Ethernet?

The DWM-314-G is purely a cellular + Ethernet device — it provides 5G/4G WAN connectivity and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, but does not have built-in Wi-Fi. Pair it with a separate Wi-Fi access point (for example D-Link DBR-X3000-AP) on one of the Ethernet ports if you need wireless clients.

Can the DWM-314-G run in vehicles or outdoor enclosures?

Yes. The industrial zinc-plated corrosion-resistant steel case, wide 9–36 V DC input (2-pin terminal block), DIN-rail / wall mounting, and −30 to 70 °C operating range make the DWM-314-G suitable for vehicles, outdoor cabinets, solar-powered remote sites, and industrial enclosures where traditional consumer routers fail.

How do I manage the DWM-314-G remotely?

Management options include the local Web UI, SSH, and command scripts for provisioning, plus the optional D-Link D-ECS cloud platform for centralised fleet management (license required). SMS event management and data-usage warning SMS provide out-of-band notifications. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Professional Overview

The D-Link DWM-314-G is a ruggedised 5G Multi-Connect Dual-SIM M2M VPN router purpose-built for industrial and infrastructure applications. It combines 3GPP Release 16 5G NR (SA + NSA), 4G LTE Cat.19 fallback, and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports in a compact zinc-plated steel enclosure.

Dual Micro-SIM (3FF) slots with automatic failover deliver always-on WAN connectivity across two carrier networks — essential for unattended deployments such as EV chargers, ATMs, parking meters, vending machines, smart kiosks, bus stops, and remote surveillance where a single-carrier outage cannot bring the site offline.

OpenVPN and WireGuard VPN clients, a built-in firewall with IPS and WAN Ping blocking, and MAC/packet access control secure data in transit from the connected LAN to a central concentrator. Four SMA(F) external antenna connectors let integrators place antennas for optimum cellular reception inside metal enclosures or behind obstructions.

A wide 9–36 V DC input, DIN-rail and wall-mount options, and an operating range of −30 to 70 °C make the DWM-314-G viable for vehicles, solar sites, outdoor cabinets, and cold-chain logistics. Remote management is available via Web UI, SSH, command script, and the optional D-Link D-ECS cloud platform (license required), with SMS event alerts and data-usage warnings for out-of-band diagnostics.

Housed in a 131 × 99 × 40 mm compact industrial chassis and certified for Australia (RCM) alongside CE and UKCA, the DWM-314-G is a dependable 5G/4G M2M foundation for critical business and public-infrastructure deployments. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
