HiLook by Hikvision DVR-216U-M2 – 16-Channel 5 MP Turbo HD DVR, 2 SATA, Motion Detection 2.0 (Human/Vehicle), H.265 Pro+, 4K HDMI, HDTVI/AHD/CVI/CVBS/IP
At a glance

The HiLook DVR-216U-M2 is a 16-channel Turbo HD digital video recorder in a 1U case for analog HD security cameras. Its 16 BNC inputs accept HDTVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS cameras, and it can also record IP cameras (8 IP channels as standard, up to 24, or up to 32 in enhanced IP mode). Motion Detection 2.0 classifies people and vehicles to cut false alarms. It has two SATA bays (up to 10 TB each, drives not included), a 4K HDMI output plus VGA, and a gigabit network port. This is a DVR for coax (analog) cameras and has no PoE ports; it runs from a 12 VDC supply.

  • Hybrid IP recording – 8 IP channels as standard, up to 24 when analog inputs are switched to IP; with enhanced IP mode on, 16 IP channels as standard and up to 32, each up to 4 Mbps and up to 8 MP.
  • Motion Detection 2.0 – deep-learning human and vehicle classification, enabled by default on all analog channels, greatly reduces false alarms caused by leaves, insects and changing light.
  • Quick search by target type – filter playback to human or vehicle events instead of scrolling through hours of footage.
  • H.265 Pro+ compression – plus H.265 Pro, H.265, H.264+ and H.264, cutting storage and bandwidth compared with plain H.264.
  • Up to 8 MP @ 8 fps encoding – 5 MP or 3K @ 12 fps, 4 MP @ 15 fps, 8 MP Lite @ 15 fps and 1080p at full frame rate on the main stream.
  • 4K HDMI output – HDMI up to 3840 × 2160 @ 30 Hz, with VGA up to 1920 × 1080 and simultaneous HDMI/VGA output.
  • Audio over coax on all 16 channels – with compatible cameras, plus one RCA audio input and output for two-way audio.
  • Two SATA bays – two 3.5″ SATA drives up to 10 TB each for long retention on a 16-camera site (drives sold separately).
  • Gigabit network and remote access – 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, HiLookVision app and DDNS, up to 128 remote connections, ONVIF for third-party IP cameras.
  • USB 3.0 rear port plus a front USB 2.0 port for fast footage export and backup; Wi-Fi via a USB Wi-Fi dongle.
