Hikvision DS-2CD6D55G2-IZHS – PanoVu 5-Directional Multisensor Network Camera, 4 × 5 MP 2.8–8 mm Motorised + 2 mm Downward Lens, PTRZ, IR 30 m
At a glance

The Hikvision DS-2CD6D55G2-IZHS is a 5-directional PanoVu multisensor camera: four independently adjustable 5 MP motorised varifocal (2.8–8 mm) lenses plus a fifth 2 mm fixed lens looking straight down, so one camera covers up to 360° with no blind spot under the housing. Each lens module pans, tilts and rotates (PTRZ) for fast aiming, and deep-learning human/vehicle classification runs on up to 4 channels. IR reaches 30 m, and the housing is rated IP67, IK10 and NEMA 4X.

Key features

  • Five views from one camera – four adjustable lenses cover up to 360°, and a fifth fixed 2 mm lens watches the area directly beneath the camera, removing the classic multisensor blind spot.
  • Up to 5 MP per varifocal lens (2560 × 1920) for clear detail on every channel and on a video wall; the downward lens streams at 1440 × 1440.
  • Motorised 2.8–8 mm varifocal lenses – zoom and focus each view remotely (semi-auto or manual focus) from a 96.5° to a 48.9° horizontal field of view.
  • PTRZ lens modules – pan 0–350°, tilt 0–90° and rotate ±90° so each lens can be aimed down a corridor, along a fence or across a car park.
  • Deep-learning human and vehicle classification on up to 4 channels for line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting alarms.
  • 120 dB true WDR for clear images against strong backlight such as building entries and open roller doors.
  • 850 nm IR up to 30 m for night coverage on all directions.
  • Audio and alarm interfaces – line in/line out, 2 alarm inputs, 2 alarm outputs and RS-485.
  • Rugged housing – IP67 water and dust resistance, IK10 vandal resistance and NEMA 4X anti-corrosion, −40 °C to 60 °C.
  • Single cable, single IP address – one PoE (802.3at) connection replaces several individual cameras, cutting cabling, mounts and install time.

Specifications are from Hikvision’s official DS-2CD6D55G2-IZHS datasheet (available model DS-2CD6D55G2-IZHS(2.8-8mm/2mm)). Optional mounts include the DS-1602ZJ wall mount with pole, corner and pendant adaptors.

Best for

  • Intersections of car parks, roads and loading areas where one camera on a building corner must watch several directions at once.
  • Warehouse and factory floors, where four aisles can be covered from one ceiling or pendant mount and the downward lens covers the area below.
  • Replacing three, four or five single cameras on one pole – fewer cables, fewer mounts and one IP address.
  • Sites that need flexible re-aiming later: each PTRZ lens and motorised zoom can be adjusted as the site changes.
  • Coastal and industrial environments needing NEMA 4X corrosion resistance and a −40 °C to 60 °C rating.

Who it’s for

Security integrators

Cover a full corner or intersection with one mount and one cable instead of a cluster of cameras.

Logistics & warehousing

Watch multiple aisles, docks and yards from a single high point.

Retail centres & car parks

Wide-area situational awareness with 5 MP detail per view.

Education & campuses

Courtyards, walkways and building junctions covered from one location.

Councils & transport

Street intersections, interchanges and public spaces.

Industrial sites

Rugged, corrosion-resistant multisensor coverage for plant areas.

PanoVu FAQ – DS-2CD6D55G2-IZHS

It is a PanoVu 5-directional multisensor network camera. Four adjustable 5 MP lenses with motorised 2.8–8 mm zoom cover up to 360°, and a fifth fixed 2 mm lens covers the area directly under the camera – all in one housing on one network cable.

Multi-directional cameras normally leave a blind spot directly beneath the mount. The DS-2CD6D55G2-IZHS adds a 2 mm fixed lens pointing down (1440 × 1440, 71.68° horizontal view) so the area under the camera is also recorded.

Yes. Each varifocal module supports PTRZ adjustment – pan 0–350°, tilt 0–90° and rotate ±90° – and has its own motorised 2.8–8 mm lens, so you can set a wide 96.5° view on one side and a tighter 48.9° view on another.

The camera delivers 5 video channels (four varifocal views plus the downward view) from one IP address. Make sure your NVR or VMS has enough channel licences and incoming bandwidth for all five streams.

Yes. Deep-learning human and vehicle classification runs on up to 4 channels for line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting, which helps reduce alarms from moving foliage, animals and lighting changes.

It runs on PoE IEEE 802.3at (max. 25 W) or 12 VDC (max. 21.6 W). The IR illuminators reach up to 30 m.

It is rated IP67, IK10 and NEMA 4X. Hikvision classes it as moderate anti-corrosion protection, suitable for areas around 2 km from the coastline and areas affected by acid rain.

Professional overview

The Hikvision DS-2CD6D55G2-IZHS is a 5-directional PanoVu multisensor network camera that replaces a cluster of single cameras with one housing, one mount and one network connection. Four lens modules, each with a 1/2.4″ sensor and up to 2560 × 1920 resolution, can be aimed independently to cover up to 360°, while a fifth fixed 2 mm lens records the area directly beneath the camera. It is designed for building corners, intersections, car parks, warehouses and campuses where several directions need to be watched from one point.

Each varifocal module has a motorised 2.8–8 mm lens with F1.9 aperture, giving a horizontal field of view from 96.5° down to 48.9°, with semi-auto or manual focus. According to Hikvision’s DORI figures, a person can be identified at 6.4 m on the wide setting and 12.1 m on the tele setting. The image chain includes 120 dB true WDR, 3D DNR, defog and EIS, and 850 nm IR illuminates the scene up to 30 m at night. Streams are encoded in H.265+ to keep storage and bandwidth under control across five channels.

The PTRZ design is what makes installation fast: every lens module pans 0–350°, tilts 0–90° and rotates ±90°, so each view can be lined up with a corridor, fence or roadway without moving the camera body. Deep-learning human and vehicle classification on up to four channels drives line crossing, intrusion and region entrance or exit alarms with fewer false triggers, and events can push to FTP, NAS, email, alarm outputs or the monitoring centre.

The housing is rated IP67 and IK10 with NEMA 4X anti-corrosion protection and operates from −40 °C to 60 °C. Audio line in and out, 2 alarm inputs and 2 alarm outputs, RS-485 and a gigabit Ethernet port support full system integration, and it is powered by 802.3at PoE or 12 VDC. It comes with the full Hikvision manufacturer’s warranty. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
