Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro in depth

A licence for the room, not the user

Teams Rooms Pro is assigned to the room's resource account on a certified Teams Rooms system, such as a Teams Rooms on Windows compute module with touch console, a Teams Rooms on Android device with console, or a Surface Hub. Microsoft states each Pro or Basic licence is intended for a single room only; Pro also lets you sign in more than one Teams Rooms system in the same room with the same resource account.

Better hybrid meetings

Pro adds AI-powered audio and video experiences, Front Row, large gallery, dual screens and meeting chat on top of Basic, helping remote attendees see and hear everyone in the room. Some intelligent audio and video features may need additional certified peripherals.

Management at scale

Through the Pro Management Portal, IT can configure rooms remotely, monitor peripheral health, receive alerts, view device analytics and connect to ITSM tools. Microsoft also includes app updates and AI-powered remediation previously offered in Teams Rooms Premium.

Subscription terms

  • Annual commitment: a 12-month term, priced per room.
  • Under Microsoft's New Commerce terms, a subscription can only be cancelled in the first seven days of its term.
  • You can add licences during the term; reductions apply from the next renewal.
  • Monthly billing is available on request through a quote.
