The TP-Link VIGI NVR4032H is a 32-channel network video recorder with 320 Mbps of incoming and outgoing bandwidth, four SATA bays supporting up to 16 TB per drive, and two gigabit Ethernet ports for Multi-Address Mode, network fault tolerance or port aggregation. It outputs 4K over HDMI plus VGA, shows up to 36 windows, and adds 16 alarm inputs, 4 alarm outputs and an RS232 port, powered from mains AC.

VIGI NVR4032H overview

The VIGI NVR4032H is TP-Link's 32-channel VIGI recorder, built in a 440 x 330 x 44 mm four-bay chassis powered from 100 to 240 V AC (1.5 A, 50 to 60 Hz) through an AC jack and the supplied power cord. It accepts 32 channels of IP video with 320 Mbps of incoming and 320 Mbps of outgoing bandwidth and records from 8MP down to QCIF. Decoding capability at 25 fps is listed as four channels at 8MP, six at 5MP, eight at 4MP, ten at 3MP or sixteen at 1080p. Up to sixteen channels play back synchronously; TP-Link notes fewer than 16, or none, may play if total resolution exceeds 32MP. Multi-view layouts go up to 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16, 25, 32 or 36 windows.

Networking uses two RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps ports. TP-Link's Dual Ethernet Ports Design lists three modes: Multi-Address Mode, which allows two different gateways; network fault tolerance, which creates a safeguard or redundancy for your data; and port aggregation, which realises bandwidth stacking and mutual backup. Storage is four SATA interfaces, each supporting up to 16 TB; TP-Link states the HDD is not included. Auto Initialize sets up basic IPC and hard disk parameters in one click, and recording is manual, scheduled or motion triggered with instant, regular, tag and event playback.

TP-Link's port diagram, headed Feature-Packed Ports for SMB Surveillance, shows the inputs and outputs in use: IP cameras feeding video and audio, the app, PC software and web for live view and playback, local HDD storage, a monitor, a speaker and microphone for two-way audio, keyboard and mouse for local control, smoke and infrared detectors on the alarm inputs, and a horn or alarm bell on the alarm outputs. The hardware behind that is sixteen alarm inputs and four alarm outputs, one RS232 serial interface, 1-channel RCA audio in and out, two front USB 2.0 ports and one rear USB 3.0 port, and one HDMI plus one VGA output. HDMI reaches 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz and VGA 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. TP-Link's highlights describe simultaneous output, while the specification table lists independent output.

Alarm detection, which requires a camera, covers motion, video tampering, line-crossing, intrusion, region entering and exiting, object abandoned or removed, vehicle and human detection, with video loss, IP conflict, disk, login and fan exceptions. Interoperability is ONVIF Profile S and CGI. Maximum consumption is 5 W without disks and 48 W with disks. The unit weighs 4.0 kg net, and TP-Link recommends a tray (not included) when rack mounting with angle iron. The package contains the recorder, mouse, installation guide, power cord, HDD power cables, HDD data cables, terminal blocks, mounting brackets, screws and rubber feet.
