ARC IP — Authorised Ubiquiti Reseller | UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber (UCG-Fiber) 10G, in stock in Australia | 1300 100 440 arcip.com.au

Overview

The Ubiquiti UCG-Fiber (UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber) is a compact 10G cloud gateway that runs your entire UniFi network — routing, security and a built-in UniFi Protect NVR — from a small desktop unit. It delivers up to 5 Gbps IDS/IPS, dual 10G WAN (10G SFP+ and 10 GbE), four 2.5 GbE LAN ports and a selectable NVMe SSD up to 2 TB for camera recording. Ideal for fibre and multi-gig internet in homes and small businesses. Genuine Australian stock with local warranty and support from ARC IP Networks, an authorised Ubiquiti reseller.

Introducing the 10G UniFi Cloud Gateways

Ubiquiti

Ubiquiti UCG-Fiber: 5 Gbps IDS/IPS on a desktop

The UniFi Cloud Gateway Fiber is the fastest desktop gateway Ubiquiti makes. It routes with 5 Gbps of IDS/IPS inspection, supports 500+ clients and 50+ UniFi devices, and runs the full UniFi application suite — from a fanless box measuring 212.8 x 127.6 x 30 mm.

That 5 Gbps figure is the headline. It matches the rack-mounted UDM-Pro-Max for inspection throughput, in a desktop unit at a fraction of the price. It comes from a Quad-core ARM® Cortex®-A73 at 2.2 GHz — a generation ahead of the A53 used across the rest of the desktop range.

Fibre WAN: two ways in

This is the gateway built for a fibre service, and it is the only desktop UniFi gateway with both a 10 Gigabit SFP+ port and a 10 Gigabit copper port on the WAN side.

InterfaceCount & speeds
Default WAN ports(1) 10G SFP+ (1) 10 GbE RJ45
10G SFP+2 (10G/1G)
10 GbE RJ451 (10G/2.5G/1G)
2.5 GbE RJ45 switch ports4 (2.5G/1G/100M/10M)
Max. WAN ports6
MAC address table4,000

Whether your fibre service hands off as an SFP module or as 10 Gigabit copper, the UCG-Fiber takes it natively — no media converter, no adapter. With 6 WAN ports configurable, you can also run multi-WAN failover across a fibre primary and a second service.

Both SFP+ ports are 10G/1G. One is the WAN default and one is a LAN uplink, so you can trunk to a 10G switch at full speed while the fibre comes in on the other.

NVMe storage for UniFi Protect

Unlike the Dream Machines, which use 3.5" drive bays, the UCG-Fiber records to an Selectable NVMe SSD up to 2 TB. That is a genuinely useful design for a desktop unit — silent, fast and no moving parts.

It supports (15) HD (8) 2K (5) 4K camera streams and 50 UniFi Access hubs.

Two things to budget for: the NVMe SSD is not included, and fitting a third-party SSD requires the tray accessory. Neither is expensive, but both are easy to miss when ordering — a UCG-Fiber on its own will not record anything.

Sizing the SSD is the same arithmetic as any recorder — our storage sizing guide covers it, and the Protect NVR comparison explains when to move to a dedicated recorder instead.

PoE: one port, 30W

The UCG-Fiber includes a single PoE+ port with a 30W budget at 50-57V. That is enough for one access point or camera directly from the gateway.

It is deliberately not a PoE switch. For anything beyond a single device, add a PoE switch — the gateway manages it from the same console. Our access point comparison lists the power draw of each AP so you can work out what fits.

Appliance draw is 29.4W (Excluding PoE output), dissipating 100 BTU/hr (Excluding PoE Output), from the included 54V DC/1.1A (Adapter included) adapter.

Who the UCG-Fiber suits

  • Fibre-connected homes and businesses on multi-gig plans that would bottleneck on a 1 Gbps or 2.3 Gbps gateway.
  • Sites wanting rack-class inspection without a rack — the same 5 Gbps IDS/IPS as the UDM-Pro-Max, on a shelf.
  • Deployments up to 500+ clients and 50+ UniFi devices.
  • Silent installations — fanless, NVMe rather than spinning disks, suitable for an office or living area.
  • Anyone who already has PoE switching and only needs routing, inspection and control from the gateway.

Need less throughput for less money? Compare the UCG-Max (2.3 Gbps) and UCG-Ultra (1 Gbps). Full range in the cloud gateway comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Does the UCG-Fiber have built-in WiFi?
No — the UCG-Fiber is a gateway/router, not an access point. Add UniFi access points for wireless; the UCG-Fiber powers and manages them from the same console.
Does the UCG-Fiber support fibre internet?
Yes — it has a 10G SFP+ WAN plus a 10 GbE RJ45 WAN, so it connects directly to fibre and multi-gig internet at up to 10 Gbps.
Can the UCG-Fiber record UniFi Protect cameras?
Yes — add a selectable NVMe SSD (up to 2 TB) and it runs a built-in UniFi Protect NVR for up to (5) 4K cameras.
What’s the difference between the UCG-Fiber and UCG-Max?
The UCG-Fiber adds 10G fibre WAN (10G SFP+ + 10 GbE), higher 5 Gbps IDS/IPS, a faster A73 processor and PoE output. The UCG-Max tops out at 2.5 GbE WAN and 2.3 Gbps.
Is the UCG-Fiber rack-mountable?
It’s a compact desktop unit and includes desktop, wall and window mounts (no rack ears).
Does the UCG-Fiber include an Australian warranty?
Yes — ARC IP Networks is an authorised Ubiquiti reseller; every UCG-Fiber is genuine Australian stock with local warranty and support. Call 1300 100 440.
