The UniFi Gate Access Starter Kit in depth
Gate control with the connected Intercom
The UA-SK-Gate brings together a Gate Hub, an Intercom, a PoE++ adapter and (2) 2-wire PoE extenders to control a vehicle gate. The Gate Hub supports 1 gate and 1 side door, with up to 6,000 users, and is managed through UniFi Access. It has dedicated input terminals for gate exit request, gate position, side door exit request, side door position and emergency.
License Plate Unlock
When paired with a compatible Protect AI camera, the kit can authorise gate access with License Plate Unlock. License Plate Recognition is supported on Protect AI Series cameras, excluding 360 lenses. The record notes that Access integration for G6 Series is coming soon.
Gate Hub connectivity and power
The Gate Hub has (5) 10/100/1000 Base-T ports and (1) PoE++ input, with (4) PoE outputs at 50V DC and 30W per port (max 55W aggregated). It includes (2) Operator dry output relays and (1) Aux dry output relay, each rated 30V DC up to 1A, plus a powered side door lock output of 12V DC up to 1A. The polycarbonate unit mounts on a DIN rail (included) and is indoor only. Outdoor use requires a waterproof junction box.
Intercom hardware
The Intercom has a 177 mm (7") capacitive multi-touch display with up to 1000 nits (typical) brightness, a 2W speaker and a camera with a field of view of H: 79.4°, V: 97.5°, D: 118.2°. It is IP65-rated, with BLE 4.2 and NFC connectivity. The enclosure is aluminium alloy, UV-stabilised polycarbonate and glass, and the mount is powder-coated stainless steel. A wall mount and an adapter to the gooseneck pedestal are included.
