The TP-Link ES210GMP is an Omada 10-port Gigabit easy managed switch with 8 PoE+ ports. It has eight 802.3af/at PoE+ RJ45 ports sharing a 123 W budget (up to 30 W per port), one Gigabit RJ45 port and one Gigabit SFP/RJ45 combo port, with 20 Gbps switching. PoE runs up to 250 m in extended mode, and Fast PoE, Perpetual PoE and PoE Auto Recovery are listed, in a fanless metal case for desk or wall mounting.

ES210GMP overview

The ES210GMP is TP-Link's Omada 10-port Gigabit easy managed switch with 8-port PoE+. TP-Link counts its ports as ten Gigabit ports: eight 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE+ RJ45 ports, one 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port and one Gigabit SFP/RJ45 combo port, all with auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX. The eight PoE ports comply with 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE+ and share a 123 W budget available for all PoE+ ports, with a maximum of 30 W per port, so they can power IP cameras, access points and other PoE devices directly. The two non-PoE ports connect devices such as PCs, printers or an NVR, or uplink to the rest of the network over copper or fibre through the combo port. TP-Link footnotes the 123 W figure as a budget that may vary.

PoE features are aimed at surveillance. TP-Link lists up to 250 m PoE transmission distance, Fast PoE, Perpetual PoE and PoE Auto Recovery, which TP-Link describes as automatic recovery for reliable surveillance networking. For traffic, port isolation provides secure traffic separation, QoS helps keep priority video quality, and VLAN covers MTU VLAN, port-based VLAN and 802.1Q tag VLAN with up to 32 VLAN groups and 4K VIDs. Loopback detection provides automatic loop prevention, IGMP v1/v2/v3 snooping with fast leave handles multicast, and static link aggregation, 802.3x flow control, port mirroring (one-to-one, many-to-one, ingress/egress/both), port and traffic statistics and 802.1ab LLDP are listed.

Performance figures are 20 Gbps switching capacity, a 14.88 Mpps packet forwarding rate, an 8K MAC address table, a 4 Mbit packet buffer and 15 KB jumbo frames, with store-and-forward transmission. QoS includes port-based, 802.1p and DSCP priority with eight queues, weighted round robin, queue weight configuration, bandwidth control with port-based rate limiting and storm control in kbps or pps for broadcast, multicast and unknown-unicast traffic. Management is through a web-based GUI with DHCP client and cable diagnostics, and the switch supports plug-and-play for instant connectivity. Under Omada SDN it adds automatic device discovery, batch configuration, batch firmware upgrading and unified configuration with the Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controller, plus the Omada app and cloud access. Zero-touch provisioning requires the Omada Cloud-Based Controller, and TP-Link highlights Omada Cloud Essentials as a free, easy-to-use cloud-based management option for small businesses and surveillance networks.

The ES210GMP measures 209 x 126 x 26 mm (8.2 x 4.9 x 1.0 in). It is fanless for silent operation, built in a durable metal casing with a physical security lock slot, and supports desktop or wall mounting, with rubber feet supplied. Power comes from an external DC power adapter rated at 53.5 V DC / 2.43 A, which is included in the box. Surge protection is rated at 6 kV. TP-Link lists an operating temperature of 0 to 40 degrees C and storage from -40 to 70 degrees C, with 10 to 90% operating and 5 to 90% storage humidity, non-condensing, and FCC and CE certification. TP-Link's application examples are surveillance with IP cameras, Wi-Fi coverage with access points, and wired connections to non-PoE devices such as PCs and printers. The box contains the switch, power adapter, installation guide and rubber feet.
