The TP-Link Tapo S200B Smart Button puts Tapo lighting and device control on a small round button. Program single tap, double tap and rotate gestures in the Tapo app, activate Away Mode to turn off connected devices, use it as a one-click alarm near a bath or bed, or pair it with a Tapo Hub as a smart doorbell. It sits on a table, sticks to a wall with the supplied adhesive or attaches to a magnetic surface, measures 43.5 mm across, and uses a CR2032 battery that TP-Link says lasts more than one year. A Tapo Hub (sold separately) is required.

The TP-Link Tapo S200B is a battery-powered smart button that controls Tapo lights and other Tapo smart devices without opening an app. Single tap, double tap and rotation trigger different actions, it can serve as a one-click alarm or a doorbell button, and it runs on a replaceable CR2032 coin cell. A Tapo Hub is required.

Tapo S200B overview

The Tapo S200B is a wireless smart button for Tapo homes. Rather than opening an app or calling out to a voice assistant, you press the button to control your smart lights and other Tapo devices. TP-Link suggests placing two or more buttons in different spots so lighting control is always within reach, effectively controlling the same fixtures from multiple locations. Pair all your Tapo lights and devices with one button for whole-home control, and use Away Mode with a single click to turn off all your connected devices when you head out.

Customisation happens in the Tapo app. TP-Link's examples assign a single tap to turn a light on or off, a double tap to change the lighting effect, and rotation to change brightness or light temperature; TP-Link describes the button as triggering up to 4 different actions with these single-tap, double-tap and rotating controls. Beyond lighting, the S200B works as a one-click alarm: install it near a bath, toilet or bedside so family members can call for help when needed. Paired with a Tapo Hub that has a chime, such as the Tapo H100, it also becomes a smart doorbell button on your front door.

A Tapo Hub is required; the S200B's specifications list Hub Required: Yes, and it communicates over the 922 MHz low-power link. TP-Link's Tapo H200 page names the S200B among the buttons it supports, and the Tapo H100 page describes pairing the Tapo Smart Button with the hub for a doorbell. The button uses an ultra-low power wireless protocol and a replaceable CR2032 coin cell. TP-Link's summary says the battery will last more than one year, while its feature text describes years of intelligent control.

Mounting is flexible: place it on a table or bedside cabinet, mount it to the wall with the provided adhesives, or attach it to any magnetic surface. The S200B measures Ø43.5 x 16.9 mm, operates from 0 to 40 °C and works with the Tapo app on iOS 10 or later and Android 5.0 or later. The package contains the Tapo S200B, a CR2032 battery, a mounting template, anti-slip tape, double-sided tape and a quick start guide.
