The TP-Link Tapo C211 is a pan/tilt home security camera for indoor use. It records 2K 3MP (2304 x 1296) at 15 fps through a 4 mm F2.0 lens, pans to cover 360° horizontally, and uses 850 nm IR LEDs for night vision up to 9 m. Motion, person and baby crying detection send alerts to the Tapo app, motion tracking keeps the subject in view, and two-way audio has noise cancellation. It connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB (purchased separately) or to Tapo Care cloud storage (subscription required), and sits on a table or mounts to a ceiling.

The TP-Link Tapo C211 is an indoor pan/tilt Wi-Fi security camera that records 2K 3MP (2304 x 1296) video. Its 340° mechanical pan gives 360° horizontal coverage, it sees up to 9 m in the dark with 850 nm IR, and it detects motion, people and a crying baby, tracking moving subjects. Two-way audio, privacy zones, a microSD slot for cards up to 512 GB and optional Tapo Care cloud storage by subscription round it out.

Tapo C211 overview

The Tapo C211 is TP-Link's pan/tilt home security Wi-Fi camera, designed to watch over a room or walkway from a single position. TP-Link describes the view as 2K 3MP, and the maximum resolution is 2304 x 1296 pixels, compared on the official page with a 1920 x 1080 image. The camera uses a 1/2.8-inch progressive scan CMOS sensor (not a starlight sensor) behind a 4 mm lens with an F2.0 aperture, giving a 98° diagonal, 83° horizontal and 45° vertical field of view. Video is encoded in H.264 at 15 fps, with 3D DNR and WDR image enhancement. TP-Link lists no digital zoom for this model.

Coverage comes from the motor rather than a wide lens. The mechanical pan range is 340°, which TP-Link specifies as 360° pan coverage, and the mechanical tilt range is 70°, specified as 116.65° tilt coverage; the overview on the same page describes the range as 360° horizontal and 114° vertical. When motion is detected, precise motion tracking follows the subject to keep it within view. Night vision uses 850 nm IR LEDs with a stated range of 30 ft (9 m), so you never miss what goes on, even at night.

Detection covers three event types on the C211: general motion, people and a crying baby. TP-Link pairs the baby crying detection with the camera's night vision as a second set of eyes and ears for baby care around the clock, and person detection lets you receive instant notifications when someone is seen rather than every movement. You can draw customisable activity zones so only the areas that matter trigger alerts, and set privacy zones that block chosen spaces from being recorded. Standard system notifications are included; notifications with a snapshot are part of Tapo Care. A built-in microphone and speaker give two-way audio with noise cancellation, and the siren is rated at 88 dB measured at 10 cm.

For storage, the camera has a microSD slot that accepts cards of up to 512 GB, and TP-Link says footage can be saved continuously to the card; the card is purchased separately. Cloud recording is available through Tapo Care, which requires a subscription. The C211 joins your network over IEEE 802.11b/g/n 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, supports RTSP and ONVIF, and secures traffic with 128-bit AES encryption with SSL/TLS and WPA/WPA2-PSK, with on-device machine learning. Through Tapo sharing you can share clips with family or guests and give them access to the camera, and TP-Link notes the feed can be viewed from two different smartphones. It works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, although TP-Link notes these are not available in all languages and countries.

Power comes from the included 9 V DC adapter (100-240 V, 50/60 Hz input, 9 V 0.6 A output). The camera stands on a tabletop or mounts to a ceiling, measures 85.4 x 86.8 x 117.7 mm, and operates from 0 °C to 40 °C at 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity. In the box are the Tapo C211 camera, power adapter, quick start guide, mounting screws, mounting anchors, mounting template and camera base.
