Specifications from Teltonika's official product data for the RUTM20, checked October 2026.

The RUTM20 Compact 5G Router in depth

Compact global 5G connectivity

The RUTM20 is an ultra-compact 5G router engineered for IoT and IIoT solutions where size matters. Its global Telit 5G modem supports 5G Sub-6GHz SA/NSA at 2.5/3.4Gbps DL (4x4 MIMO) and 900/550 Mbps UL (2x2). It falls back to 4G (LTE Cat 19) and 3G. Two 2FF SIM slots and an eSIM allow automatic failover between SIMs. Auto-switch cases include weak signal, data limit, roaming and no network.

PoE and flexible power for simpler installs

The RUTM20 has active PoE in on the WAN port and PoE out on the LAN port, so a single cable can deliver power. PoE out supplies up to 30 W max at the PSE. It can also run from a 9 - 50 VDC input via a 4-pin industrial DC power socket, with reverse polarity and surge/transient protection. Power consumption is under 4.5 W idle and under 8.5 W at maximum. Mounting options are DIN rail, wall mount or flat surface, and all require an additional kit.

Remote management, security and industrial protocols

The eSIM supports up to 7 profiles, so carriers can be switched remotely at scale without site visits. Data plans are not included. The router runs RutOS and can be managed through the Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS). It supports VPNs including OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard and DMVPN, plus a firewall, VLANs and TPM 2.0. Industrial protocols include Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA, BACnet and DLMS/COSEM. Data to Server supports HTTP(S), MQTT and Azure MQTT.
