Professional Overview

The Ruijie RG-RAP72-Wall is a Wi-Fi 7 BE3600 wall-plate access point with a 2.5 Gigabit uplink. The dual-radio 2x2 design delivers 2,882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for 3,570 Mbps aggregate, and unlike most wall-plate APs it does not throttle itself at the uplink — the 2.5GbE port can actually carry what the radios produce.

That uplink is the reason to choose Wi-Fi 7 in this form factor. A Gigabit uplink caps a BE3600 radio at well under half its capability, so an AP with a 1G port is limited by its cable rather than its radio. Pairing this AP with a 2.5G multi-gig switch removes the bottleneck end to end. Four Gigabit LAN ports on the faceplate serve the TV, phone and set-top box in the room, and one of them supplies 10 W of PoE output from an 802.3at source.

Client capacity is 511 associations on 5 GHz — roughly double the RAP62-Wall — which gives headroom in busier rooms and small shared spaces. The body is 24 mm thick excluding the bracket so it sits close to flush in a junction box, carries an IP41 rating against dust and dripping water, and includes an anti-theft lock point, which matters in publicly accessible rooms and corridors.

Power is PoE or PoE+ only, 15 W maximum excluding PoE output, so a single Cat6 run completes the install. In self-organising mode the AP can manage a network of up to 300 devices. Note that this is a 2.4/5 GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 7 access point — it does not use the 6 GHz band, so no Australian 6 GHz channel restrictions apply to it. Ruijie Cloud management is included for the life of the product — zero-touch provisioning, remote monitoring, firmware management and configuration from the Ruijie Reyee app or a browser, at no subscription cost. RG-RAP72-WALL — frequently asked questions

How many devices can the RG-RAP72-WALL power over PoE?

The RG-RAP72-WALL has a total PoE budget of 10 W (when power source is IEEE 802.3at-compliant) shared across 1 powered ports. That runs roughly 1 fixed-lens IP cameras or Wi-Fi access points at 10–15 W each. High-draw devices — PTZ cameras with heaters, multi-sensor cameras, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 access points — can take 30 W or more each, so count actual draw rather than port count.

How fast is the RG-RAP72-WALL?

The RG-RAP72-WALL is rated at 3570 Mbps aggregate — 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz, 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. These are manufacturer PHY maximums; real-world throughput depends on client capability, channel width and interference.

What is the IP rating of the RG-RAP72-WALL?

The RG-RAP72-WALL is rated IP41, which is an indoor rating — it is protected against dust and dripping water but not against rain or hosing. It is specified for 0°C to +40°C (32°F to +104°F). For outdoor placement choose an IP65 or IP68 model, or house this one in a weatherproof enclosure.

Does the RG-RAP72-WALL need a licence or a controller?

No. Ruijie Cloud management is included free for the life of the hardware — there is no subscription, no per-device licence and no controller appliance to buy. See our Ruijie Cloud guide.

Where can I buy the RG-RAP72-WALL in Australia?

From ARC IP Networks. We are an authorised Australian Ruijie reseller and hold the access point range as genuine Australian stock with the full manufacturer’s warranty — not grey import. Browse the Ruijie access point range.
